Roger Corman’s First Production ‘Monster from the Ocean Floor’ Swims Onto Blu-ray Next Month

Terror strikes from beneath the sea when Monster from the Ocean Floor hits Blu-ray and DVD on February 4 via Film Masters.

The 1954 creature feature was the first film produced by the legendary Roger Corman. After reading an article about an electric-powered one-man submarine, Corman convinced the company to let the production use one in exchange for free publicity.

Robot Monster writer Wyott Ordung directs from a script by Bill Danch. Anne Kimbell, Stuart Wade, and Dick Pinner star. Corman also has a small role.

Monster from the Ocean Floor has been newly scanned in 4k from the original 35mm camera negative.
