Ryan Murphy Reveals How Taylor Swift Supported Travis Kelce’s Role in ‘Grotesquerie’ (Exclusive)

Ryan Murphy knows nothing good starts in a getaway car.

And yet, the Grotesquerie creator was jet set on including one in the series for Kansas City Chiefs player Travis Kelce and costar Niecy Nash-Betts in the FX series as a special reference to Taylor Swift—who has been dating Travis since last year—for the athlete’s first appearance in the show.

“There’s that last scene of them in episode three that I directed where they go in the red getaway car,” Ryan explained to The Hollywood Reporter in an article published Oct. 16. “There’s a little Taylor Swift nod for you there!”

And the American Horror Story creator—who noted he cast Travis in the series because he “always knew” the football star could pull off his role as Ed Laclan—also effused that he would of course be interested in having Taylor aboard in a future Grotesquerie episode.

“I’ve talked to Taylor’s people about various things through the years,” Ryan continued. “And all I will say is that I think she’s great and if she ever has time to do it, I would do it in a heartbeat. I think she’s one of the greats.”
