Jack White Blasts Trump Aide Over “Seven Nation Army” Video

Music

Earlier today, the deputy director of communications for former President Donald J. Trump posted a video on X that featured the White Stripes’ 2003 Elephant song “Seven Nation Army.” The aide, Margo Martin, has since deleted the post, but that did not stop Jack White from criticizing Martin and her boss. “Oh….Don’t even think about using my music you fascists,” White wrote on Instagram. “Law suit coming from my lawyers about this.”

White continued by criticizing the Republican presidential candidate and a member of his campaign staff who, according to the Army’s public affairs office, “pushed aside” an Arlington National Cemetery employee during a wreath-laying ceremony earlier this week. “And as long as I’m here, a double fuck you DonOLD for insulting our nation’s veterans at Arlington you scum,” White wrote. “You should lose every military family’s vote immediately from that if ANYTHING makes sense anymore.”

White is a longtime Trump critic who has sold “Icky Trump” T-shirts and previously condemned the usage of “Seven Nation Army” in Trump-supporting media. He’s also criticized Elon Musk for allowing Trump back on X, and he’s called out celebrities who have associated themselves with the former president.

As the presidential election nears, musicians have been more outspoken against Donald Trump, in particular, over his musical choices. Among the biggest names to take issue with the Republican are Celine Dion, Beyoncé, Foo Fighters, and ABBA.
