X Announce Final Album and Farewell Tour, Share Video for New Song “Big Black X”: Watch

Music

X have announced a new album: Smoke & Fiction is out August 2 via Fat Possum. The full-length follows 2020’s Alphabetland and is billed as the Los Angeles punk group’s final album. Below, watch the music video for the new album’s lead single, “Big Black X.”

Along with their final album, X have announced a farewell tour. The shows begin in July and stretch into October. See X’s tour dates below.

X reconvened in 2020 for Alphabetland, their first new album since 1993’s Hey Zeus! and first with the group’s original lineup since 1985’s Ain’t Love Grand! The original X members—vocalist Exene Cervenka, vocalist and bassist John Doe, guitarist Billy Zoom, and drummer DJ Bonebrake—also made Smoke & Fiction, working again with Alphabetland producer Rob Schnapf.
