Pre-Review: Randy Edelman “The Italian Star”

Music

“The Italian Star” is an aerial view of a moment in the life of composer Randy Edelman as he constructed a romantic musical apologue sailing down the Grand Canal in Italy. The Grand Canal is the principal player in a cast of thousands. It’s the main corridor that runs through the heart of Venice and is lined with enchanting buildings and palaces dating back from the 13th to the 18th century. The waterways connect to smaller channels and one of them drifts under the “Bridge of Sighs” where legend has it that sharing a kiss under this white limestone structure leads to eternal love.

The entire history of Venice is said to be intimately linked to Cupid. It is no wonder that the modern day “Cupid of Music” Randy Edelman would share words like “But Darlin’ I loved you from the start” in the midst of a beautiful melody embraced with the fibers of sympathetic threads. Randy creates the first flushes of love to heartbreak and loss putting emotions to words and music.

Randy is acclaimed and valued for his sensitive and euphoric levels of vulnerability, honesty, intimacy and even hidden depths of suffering contained within his music and lyrics. His songs have been covered by the most esteemed artists including Barry Manilow (A Weekend in New England), Patti LaBelle (Isn’t it a Shame), Nelly (My Place), The Carpenters (You), Olivia, Newton-John (If Love is Real), and many more. He is also credited for composing some of the most alluring and dazzling motion picture and television soundtracks such as “My Cousin Vinny”, “Ghostbusters ll”, “Gettysburg”, “Last of the Mohicans”, “MacGyver” and over 100 others.

“The Italian Star” is set to release on March 8, 2024 via Tribeca Records. It is a surreal picture of tenderness and ultraromance at its very best. It lets you live in the fantasy of the absolute. Of over  100 million love songs that have been recorded “The Italian Star” stands as one of the best… The song will be available worldwide on all digital platforms….
