Horror

January has been a crazy month for SCREAMBOX with several big releases, including modern classics Horror in the High Desert and its sequel Horror in the High Desert 2: Minerva, as well as SCREAMBOX Exclusive Underground.

Hitting the streamer tomorrow are both Lamberto Bava‘s Evil Dead-esque splatter classics Demons and Demons 2!

In Demons, a large group of people invited to attend a screening of a mysterious horror movie quickly find themselves living in one when locked inside with ravenous demons.

“A rocking soundtrack, ’80s energy, and a lot of gruesome demonic fun under Lamberto Bava’s direction makes for one hell of a good time at the movies,” BD’s Meagan Navarro wrote about this cult classic. “They will make cemeteries their cathedrals, and the cities will be your tombs. They are… the Demons.”

“Regarded by horror fans the world over as two of the greatest Italian horror films ever made, Lamberto Bava’s Demons films are not only major cinematic nightmare fuel, but also hugely entertaining splatterfests of the highest order,” explains Synapse, who recently released both films with stunning 4K Ultra HD.

“In 1986’s ambitious sequel Demons 2, the apocalyptic terror continues! A televised horror film spells doom for the residents of a luxury high-rise apartment, as demons are unleashed through the TV screen at a young girl’s birthday party. As more and more residents are infected and transformed into blood-thirsty demons, a young couple fights to survive as they try to escape Hell on Earth.”

Read more about the remastered films from Synapse here and check ’em out on SCREAMBOX tomorrow!
