The Hives Issue Call for Cover Bands, Say They’re Franchising Live Shows

The Hives are franchising themselves. “THE HIVES FRANCHISE NEEDS YOU,” the band wrote in a legitimate, if tongue-in-cheek, statement. “We have arrived at a point where the Hives can no longer keep up with public demand for concerts. This is where you come in. Help us create a world where the Hives are playing in every city, all the time.” Cover bands are invited to sign up on the band’s website. “Let’s make business together and rock’n’roll,” the statement concludes.

The Hives have recently been touring behind this year’s The Death of Randy Fitzsimmons, including shows with Foo Fighters, Arctic Monkeys, and Green Day. They recently played on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, before a very busy show at Mexico’s Corona Capital festival.
