Jon Gosselin pushed back at his ex-wife Kate Gosselin’s allegations that their son Collin is “troubled” and “violent.”
“Kate posting cruel false accusations regarding Collin seems to be just another way for her to justify her inexcusable horrific past behavior toward him,” Jon, 46, told the U.S. Sun in a statement via his rep Friday.
“True love for a child wouldn’t include a mother attacking their son to the public.”
The rep claimed that Collin, 19, was recently cleared from an extensive background and mental evaluation to join the US Marine Corps, adding, “The government’s full diagnoses clearly reflects the truth.
Jon’s rep further reminded the public that Kate, 48, lost custody of Collin after failing to show up in court.
“Do not forget that a judge awarded sole legal and physical custody of Collin to his father.”

The rep alleged Kate hasn’t seen Collin since the sixth grade due to being “unable to control her abusive behavior towards him.”
“At this point, Collin is training to be a marine in order to serve his country and is unable to respond to his mother’s callus lies,” Jon’s rep concluded.
Jon’s defense of his son comes mere hours after his ex issued a statement that Collin has allegedly received psychiatric treatment as a result of his “unpredictable and violent behavior.”
In a statement to People, she claimed her son was placed in a facility after receiving “multiple psychiatric diagnoses over the years” and treatments that were “insufficient for his needs.”
“The decision to admit him was made by emergency room doctors following one of his many attacks/outbursts — this one involving his use of a weapon,” Kate, 48, claimed.
The mother of eight further alleged Collin was regularly violent toward her ex-husband, their daughter Hannah Gosselin, 19, and “others around him.”
“Collin’s distorted perception of reality is one of the many issues that he has always struggled with,” she claimed.
“All measures that were taken in our home were at the explicit recommendation of his pediatric psychiatrist and/or his team of specialists and were put into place to safeguard every member of our family, our friends as well as our family pets.”
Kate concluded her statement by claiming that her son was a “very troubled young man,” which has resulted in herself and his siblings distancing themselves from him.
Her daughter Mady Gosselin, 22, also echoed Kate’s claims that Collin was violent.
The drama between the estranged family played out in an episode of “Jon & Kate: Family Circus,” where Jon admitted six out of his eight kids don’t talk to him.
Collin echoed his dad’s claims that he lost connection with his siblings in 2016 when his mom had him institutionalized.
“I think my mom kind of drove a social barrier between us,” he claimed. “She told them the story one way, and, obviously, I see the story a different way.”
Collin is one of Kate and Jon’s sextuplets along with Aaden, Collin, Joel, Hannah, Alexis and Leah, all 19. The former couple also share twins Mady and Cara, 22.
The broken family is known from their time on the TLC show “Jon & Kate Plus 8” — which ran from 2007 to 2017.
As for the divorced couple, they called it quits after 10 years of marriage.
At the time, she received full custody of their children until a judge granted Jon the rights to Hannah and Collin in 2018.
