Quavo has announced a new album, Rocket Power. The Migos rapper introduced the new LP with a trailer that features a massive CGI rocket preparing to launch into space as Quavo raps in front of it. The new album arrives August 4. Check out the trailer below.
In a statement alongside the video, Quavo shared: “This Album Is Embodying All My Emotions. Through the process of healing I’ve learned to turn tragedy into triumph. I had to dig deep into my purpose and find the power to keep striving. To my fans, thanks for being patient wit me and supporting Us. To my FAMILY, even when times get hard we kno our MAIN mission is to keep the Rocket name ALIVE. TIL INFINITY.”
Rocket Power will mark the first Quavo album since fellow Migos member Takeoff was shot and killed outside of a Houston, Texas, bowling alley in November 2022; Takeoff’s final album, The Last Rocket, was released in 2018. Earlier this month, Quavo and Future shared a new song, “Turn Yo Clic Up,” which followed recent singles “Greatness” and “Honey Bun.”
Shortly before his death, Quavo and Takeoff had shared their joint LP, Only Built for Infinity Links. Earlier this year, Quavo shared a tribute song to his late nephew called “Without You,” which he debuted at the Grammy Awards, performing with Maverick City Music during the ceremony’s in memoriam segment. Quavo released his debut, QUAVO HUNCHO, in 2018. The Migos’ last album, Culture III, was released in 2021.
