Bully, the grunge rock band led by Nashville-based musician Alicia Bognanno, have announced a new album: Lucky for You is due out June 2 via Sub Pop. Bognanno has also shared the lead single “Days Move Slow,” along with a music video directed by Alex Ross Perry, marking their third collaboration together. Check it out below.
“Days Move Slow” was written after Bognanno’s beloved dog Mezzi died, and serves as a reflection on the unending love of a pet. “As someone who has spent the majority of my life feeling agonizingly misunderstood, there is no greater gift than experiencing true unconditional love and acceptance,” said Bognanno. “I was a stranger to the level of love I now know exists because of Mezzi.”
Lucky for You follows Bully’s 2020 full-length, Sugaregg, and includes the Soccer Mommy collaboration “Lose You.” The new album was recorded at MMK Studios and Bognanno’s house, with JT Daly serving as producer.
In support of Lucky for You, Bully has extended her North American tour. The new dates include performances in Chicago, New York, Charlottesville, and Los Angeles, among other cities. Find a complete list of Bully’s tour dates after the jump.
