Vanderpump Rules Star Katie Maloney Addresses Tom Sandoval’s Affair Impacting Schwartz & Sandy’s Restaurant; Says “It Is What It Is”

Are affairs ever the result of careful contemplation? Can all aspects of the fallout be anticipated? In Tom Sandoval’s case, the answer is no on both fronts.

Of course, one figured that his ex-girlfriend Ariana Madix would be a casualty of Tom’s hookups with Raquel Leviss. But did Tom consider his status as a public figure? Surely he wouldn’t risk his investment in Schwartz & Sandy’s.

It turns out that Vanderpump Rules fans have made their disdain for Tom clear by attacking his restaurants. Schwartz & Sandy’s, along with TomTom, have received countless poor reviews on Yelp. Some have even called for a boycott of the eateries. It turns out, the public will accept a public lifestyle of frivolity and hedonism, but only to a point.

Sandoval’s business partners and staff are now at risk due to his inexcusable seven-month affair with Raquel. His bestie and business partner Tom Schwartz is also the face of the restaurants. Schwartz has remained notably quiet on the Scandoval, inaction that his VPR co-stars have called him out.

Indeed, Sandoval was criticized for publicly addressing his restaurant before issuing an apology to Ariana. When the drama first unfolded, Tom posted a statement in defense of Schwartz & Sandy’s, and his employees.

Schwartz & Sandy’s posted a statement on their Instagram page. It reads in part, “Our staff, from the waitresses and bartenders to the cooks and dishwashers, all have had nothing to do with this unfortunate situation. Please take into consideration, that posting negative comments affects more than just the individual you may be upset with.”

But Schwartz’s ex-wife Katie Maloney had plenty to say during an appearance on the WWHL: After Show. According to RealityBlurb!, Katie predicted the public backlash and isn’t surprised about it being directed at the restaurant.

“I think when you put your name on your business and it’s your brand … Your reputation is going to affect that,” Katie said. “You have to move in the world in the way that is not going to tarnish as such. So if this is the fallout, then it’s the fallout. It sucks but like, it is what it is.”
