Christina Haack slams ‘disgusting’ article shared by ex Ant Anstead

Reality TV

Christina Haack slammed ex-husband Ant Anstead for sharing a “disgusting” article regarding their custody battle over 3-year-old son Hudson that the “Wheeler Dealers” star deemed “brilliant.”

“It was just brought to my attention Hudson’s father is promoting this article on his page, but with clap hands …. This makes this even more bizarre and disturbing,” Haack, 39, captioned an Instagram post on Tuesday, which featured a screenshot of a Psychology Today article titled “The ‘Reality’ of Kids on Television.”

The reality TV star claimed her ex-husband, 43, is the real danger to their child, alleging that he’s the one keeping their son in the press.

“Ant Anstead is so clearly projecting it’s not even funny. He is the ONLY ONE that keeps ensuring that Hudson’s name stays in the press. Hudson’s Law? Give me a break,” Haack added in a post shared via her Instagram Story.

“That sweet, little boy is healthy and happy-why is he being leveraged and USED by his father like this? After all the articles @psych_today as posted about Post-Separation Abuse, you’d think an editor somewhere would have seen through this, and left Hudson out of this article. Absolutely disgusting.”

The “Flip or Flop” alum went on to call out the author of the piece, Hilary Levey Friedman Ph.D, who claimed that a law, dubbed “Hudson’s Law,” should be put in place to further protect children in the world of reality TV.

“What a poorly written article. Sloppy Journalism/ Click bait at its finest,” Haack wrote. “Hilary, find a new narrative centered around facts, not the Instagram comment section.”

She continued, “You could have read the public court filings from both sides before writing this. Most of it is completely inaccurate and sounds more like a tabloid than something I would expect from a Ph.D.”

Haack noted that she films with her children for about an hour “max” every couple of months – arguing that the process is nothing like a TV shows like “Toddlers & Tiaras,” where the children are the main characters.

“Leave me out of your propaganda. Hudson’s Law?! Really? That is absurd. You don’t know anything about my household. Hudson is MY son. I’ve always protected him and always will,” she wrote.

Haack called on the author to stop using her and her son to help her “narrative,” calling the move “trashy and disgusting.”

“There are plenty of other home shows that feature their children and who continue to do so as part of the family dynamic, there are plenty of influencers across platforms who feature their children in advertisements. Are all these people putting their kids in harms way or using their kids as ‘puppets?!’ The answer is, NO,” Haack said.

She concluded that her shows are about “home improvement” and “not my children” so there is no need for a “Hudson’s Law.”

Anstead shared his approval of the article by posting the story to his own social media page, writing, “What an utterly brilliant article by @hleveyfriedman calling for an urgent change in the law to protect our kids.” He also added several clapping-hands emojis.

Haack and Anstead, who got married in 2018, have been feuding over the custody of son Hudson since their split in September 2020. Haack filed for divorce two months later and they finalized it in June 2021.

Since the breakup, Anstead has claimed that Haack has “exploited” their son and alleged that she is an “absent mother,” though Haack has denied the allegations.

Haack shares two other children — Taylor, 12, and Brayden, 7 — with her first ex-husband, Tarek El Moussa. The pair were married from 2009 to 2018 and had a blowout fight on set of “Flip or Flop” in 2021, resulting in the end of the HGTV series.

Haack secretly got married for the third time to Joshua Hall in April 2022. Meanwhile, Anstead has moved on with girlfriend Renée Zellweger.

El Moussa, for his part, married Heather Rae Young in October 2021. The “Selling Sunset star shared that she is pregnant and expecting her first child with El Moussa in July 2022 after documenting her fertility journey.
