Rhye’s Michael Milosh Sues Ex-Wife’s Attorneys, Claiming Malicious Prosecution

The complaint notes that Alexa Nikolas’ sexual battery lawsuit was dropped in May. She says she will re-file the lawsuit.

Michael Milosh of Rhye filed a lawsuit on Tuesday (August 30) against the lawyers of his ex-wife Alexa Nikolas, who sued Milosh in 2021 for sexual battery, gender violence, intentional infliction of emotional distress, and a violation of California’s Tom Bane Civil Rights Act. Milosh sued the attorneys for malicious prosecution, calling it a “frivolous” lawsuit without “legal basis or factual support,” court documents viewed by Pitchfork confirm.

The lawsuit is hinged on the fact that Nikolas’ lawsuit was dropped in May; court documents from earlier this year confirm this is the case. Nikolas has told Rolling Stone and Consequence that she plans to re-file her lawsuit.

“In an effort to extort money, garner fame, and drum-up new business, [the lawyers] filed a frivolous lawsuit against Mr. Milosh that lacked any legal basis or factual support,” the complaint reads. “The lawsuit lacked probable cause and was filed for malicious reasons. Mr. Milosh was forced to retain counsel and move to dismiss the lawsuit. Defendants did not even oppose the dismissal.”

Milosh is seeking over $10 million in damages. The complaint names Karen Barth Menzies, Deborah S. Mallgrave, Brian L. Williams, and Jemme E. Dunn, plus the law firms Gibbs Law LLP and Greenberg Gross LLP. Greenberg Gross told Rolling Stone, “Milosh’s case is completely baseless and will be thrown out of court in short order.” Pitchfork has reached out to the other attorneys and Nikolas for comment.
