Cosey Fanni Tutti has announced that her book Re-Sisters: The Lives and Recordings of Delia Derbyshire, Margery Kempe and Cosey Fanni Tutti will be available a printing in the United States later this year. The book, which was first published in the United Kingdom in August, connects the performance artist’s life with those of another boundary-dissolving woman musician (Derbyshire) and a 15th century English Christian mystic (Kempe). The U.S. edition hits shelves on October 25 via Faber Books.

Re-Sisters got its start as Tutti worked on scoring a film about Delia Derbyshire, according to a press release about the book. Derbyshire, who was also highlighted in the 2021 documentary Sisters With Transistors, was a formative figure in electronic music, in large part due to the television theme songs she composed during the 1960s. During the same period, Tutti also began learning about Margery Kempe, who’s credited with writing the first known autobiography in English. Faber also published Tutti’s 2017 autobiography Art Sex Music.
