MJ Javid teases ‘nontoxic’ ‘Shahs of Sunset’ spin-off with Reza and GG

Reality TV

Mercedes “MJ” Javid is is looking forward to a “nontoxic” reality TV reprisal.

In an exclusive interview with Page Six, the “Shahs of Sunset” alum, 49, teases that a new unscripted project is in the works with longtime pals and former castmates Reza Farahan and Golnesa “GG” Gharachedaghi.

“This, for me, feels like a second chance that most people don’t get to make your wrongs right,” Javid says, explaining that the trio has “mended fences” following a series of feuds that played out on the final seasons of “Shahs.”

“[We’re] putting the past behind us where it belongs and just really supporting and loving each other, laughing again,” she elaborates. “It’s like these beautiful wounds [are healing].”

As previously reported, Bravo canceled “Shahs of Sunset” in April after nine seasons on the air.

At the time, multiple sources told Page Six that NBCUniversal — the parent company of Bravo and its streaming service Peacock — was in the early stages of a series that would feature Javid, Farahan, 48, and Gharachedaghi, 40.

An official announcement has yet to be made. However, the OG “Shahs” were recently spotted filming with a production crew in West Hollywood, Calif., supporting Gharachedaghi’s Bottom of the Pan culinary business.

“Reuniting with my little squad that I love to death felt amazing,” Javid tells us of their day in front of the cameras. “Because it’s very current.”

The reality star — who shares son Shams Francis, 3, with husband Tommy Feight — says she, Farahan and Gharachedaghi — mom to son Elijah, 2, — feel like a “modern family” today.

“It’s just, like, we have our kids, we’re like a blended family … We want to make TV that,” she continues, pausing for a moment, “That has got to be nontoxic.”

The conflicts she faced on “Shahs” felt debilitating at times, but Javid is still grateful for her nearly decade-long Bravo run as it gave her a platform to promote her message of body positivity.

“From day one, I was relating to women and so that’s just my big takeaway,” Javid tells Page Six of her time on “Shahs.”

“From day one, I was relating to women and so that’s just my big takeaway. You have to take the good and the bad together, right? So I focus on the body positivity, the confidence [I gave viewers] … when women were feeling like they needed to obsess over their size and … cellulite,” she says.

Acknowledging Farahan’s well-documented advocacy for the LGBTQIA+ community as well, Javid adds, “I love that there’s a road that we paved toward being in front of social stigmas.”

Without “Shahs,” though, the mother of one has been reveling in the extra time she’s been able to dedicate to “Till the Dirt,” her relationship podcast with Feight, 50, whom she wed in April 2018.

“The podcast is for us. It also happens to make people laugh, cry and connect. People listen together with their significant other, they can turn the podcast on and it can be a conversation starter for something that’s going on with them that they’re too shy to bring up on their own,” Javid tells us.

“‘Till the Dirt’ is a place where the two of us come together to retrace steps about our life that we’re obviously so open and shameless and proud of, all the ups and downs. We know that someone else is going through it right now and needs that safe place to go.”
