The “OG of the OC” was a real B, according to Brandi Glanville.
The “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” alum tells Page Six exclusively that her “Orange County” counterpart Vicki Gunvalson was a “bitch” on Peacock’s “Ultimate Girls Trip: Ex-Wives Club” spinoff due to a messy breakup with now-ex-fiancé Steve Lodge.
“We didn’t know that at the time, so she just came in being a bitch,” Glanville, 49, recalls in a joint interview with “RHUGT” castmate Jill Zarin.
But Zarin — a close friend of Gunvalson’s prior to filming — is quick to stick up for the Bravo vet.
“I’m going to defend Vicki. First of all, I have a lot of empathy for Vicki,” the former “Real Housewives of New York City” star, 58, explains.
“We all know that Vicki has said she does not want to be alone, she cannot be alone, she must have a man. She says she’s insecure about it, she knows it’s her issue. … The day she left to come to the trip, her boyfriend moved out or broke up with her.”
Gunvalson, 60, and Lodge, 63, split for good in September 2021, just as the Coto Insurance founder left Orange County for Massachusetts to film “RHUGT” at Dorinda Medley’s Berkshires estate.
At the time, Lodge had been living at Gunvalson’s home. She explained to us in February that his decision to move out while she was out of town had blindsided her — and gave her reason to believe that the failed California gubernatorial candidate had been unfaithful during the tail end of their relationship.
“I had no idea he was already planning on moving out when I left,” she said. “I had no idea there was another woman. He was home with me every single night.”
Lodge, for his part, previously told Page Six that he and Gunvalson ended their engagement and relationship in December 2020, though the pair spent plenty of time together the next year.
Lodge eventually married schoolteacher Janis Carlson in April, while Gunvalson revealed months ago that she has an “incredible” new man in her life.
Glanville says Gunvalson didn’t share her romantic woes with much of the “RHUGT” cast until the “very last day” of production. Zarin, however, got an advance notice.
“I thought everybody knew. She had told me. I guess she didn’t tell everyone else. But I knew that this had happened with this man, and she was a mess! She can’t control her feelings. That’s what makes her the greatest ‘Housewife’ of all time,” she tells Page Six of her pal.
“If she’s feeling like a guy abandoned her and dumped her and everything else, she can’t put the smile on and fake it. She’s not going to. She’s going to be sullen and sad and depressed — and we all had to deal with that because that’s what happened.”
Glanville, on the other hand, bluntly adds, “[Vicki] was pissing everyone off — maybe not Jill, but everyone else.”
“The Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip: Ex-Wives Club” — also starring Tamra Judge, Taylor Armstrong, Eva Marcille and Phaedra Parks — begins steaming Thursday, June 23, on Peacock.
