Leah McSweeney Doesn’t Think She Will Be Asked To Return To Real Housewives Of New York

Reality TV

Andy Cohen announced back in March that Bravo would be splitting up Real Housewives of New York into two separate franchises. One would be a recast/reboot of the original RHONY. The other being a new series, RHONY Legacy, with former RHONY cast members. Bethenny Frankel said that she was already asked to do RHONY Legacy. But it would come at a steep price and she doesn’t think Bravo could afford it. Dorinda Medley said she would return to basically anything Bravo has to offer. And Jill Zarin is still waiting on a phone call.

So what do the “current” RHONY cast members think about the fate of their jobs? Second year housewife Leah McSweeney isn’t very optimistic. As reported by Page Six, Leah recently appeared on the podcast We Should Talk to share her thoughts. She bluntly stated, “I think I’m not coming back. It’s just the better way to think about it.” Leah added, “I mean look, I have to see if they offer me to go back. I have to wait to see who’s on it and which show it is, and whatever. You know I can’t think the what if.”

Leah recently revealed that she was battling depressing while filming last season. For that reason, she would hate to go out on a bad note. She explained, “I would be like bummed, just because [my] second [season] was just not fun, you know what I mean. I mean maybe the show’s not supposed to be fun though I don’t know.” Leah continued, “I wanna have fun on my last season. But yeah I just think, OK, I’m not going back.”

She previously said of what she went through last season, “Season  13 wasn’t the easiest. I was dealing with my grandmother’s death. I was dealing with COVID, you know, depression, just like a lot of other people were.” Regardless, she told Page Six back in April that she will always be fond of her time on RHONY. She stated, “No matter if I go back or not, I’m always going to look back at this experience as a positive one and not just go talk s–t about Bravo.”

As of late, rumors have been swirling that Bravo was struggling to cast season 14 of RHONY. A source close to production claimed Bravo was just “not having success.” Casting issues or not, Bravo just announced that RHONY is renewed for another season. Here’s hoping it’s worth the wait.
