Jack Huston Will Play Shape-Shifting Anne Rice Character in “Mayfair Witches” TV Series

Jack Huston (House of Gucci) has joined the cast of AMC’s Anne Rice series “Mayfair Witches,” with THR reporting this afternoon that he’ll be playing the shape-shifting Lasher.

THR details in their report, “Jack Huston will play Lasher, a powerful shape shifter who has been bound to the Mayfair witches for hundreds of years.”

Alexandra Daddario, Harry Hamlin, and Annabeth Gish will also star.

Esta Spalding (“Masters of Sex,” “On Becoming a God in Central Florida”) and Michelle Ashford (“Masters of Sex,” “The Pacific,” “John Adams”) are both executive producers and writers of the series. Spalding, who has an overall deal with AMC Studios, will serve as showrunner.

“The series will focus on an intuitive young neurosurgeon who discovers that she is the unlikely heir to a family of witches. As she grapples with her newfound powers, she must contend with a sinister presence that has haunted her family for generations.”

Eight episodes of “Mayfair Witches” will premiere later this year.
