Vin Diesel announces that Fast & Furious 10 will include Brie Larson. Over 20 years after the original Fast and Furious hit theaters, the franchise is still going strong, with the tenth film releasing sometime next year. Diesel, Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson, Ludacris, Nathalie Emmanuel, Sung Kang, and many other franchise veterans are returning for the sequel. However, like each past installment, Fast & Furious 10 is introducing new stars to the franchise.
The biggest casting announcement thus far has been Jason Momoa as the villain. Very little is known about Momoa’s character, but the actor has described his villain as “flamboyant” and “misunderstood.” Additionally, The Suicide Squad‘s Daniel Melchior was cast last month in an undisclosed role. Diesel also attempted to end his years-long feud with Dwayne Johnson to have him return as Luke Hobbs, but the DC star has declined to be involved in the next movie. However, the sequel did just add an MCU star.
According to a recent Instagram post by Diesel, Larson has officially joined the cast of Fast & Furious 10. Like previous casting announcements, Diesel didn’t reveal who Larson is playing but teased she will be a “timeless” addition to the Fast and Furious mythology. The actor’s original post can be seen below:

Larson expressed interest in being in a Fast and Furious movie just a few months ago. The Captain Marvel star previously explained that test-driving cars for her Nissan Super Bowl ad gave her a newfound appreciation for car culture. Larson has stated before that she is a big fan of the Fast and Furious franchise and would be willing to play any character should she be cast. And given the scope of the Fast and Furious franchise, Larson really could be playing anybody in the sequel. F9 introduced John Cena as Dominic Toretto’s brother even though the previous eight movies made no mention of him. So with Diesel calling Larson’s character ”timeless,“ perhaps she is also playing one of Dom’s long-lost family members.
Regardless of who Larson is playing, the Academy Award winner should make a good addition to the cast. Larson will bring significant star power to Fast and Furious 10, which means she could return in Fast and Furious 11, the final film in the main series. With Larson also appearing in the MCU, she and Diesel (who voices Groot) likely already have some type of chemistry behind the scenes, which bodes well for the sequel. Between her MCU projects and now Fast and Furious, it looks like Larson will have a busy schedule for the next few years.
