The former star of The Real Housewives of Orange County Meghan King shared that she auditioned to be in season 12 of the hit Bravo show but was rejected. Meghan was in RHOC for seasons 10-12, during which she was married to her ex-husband Jim Edmonds. Jim, who is a retired MLB player, was often away traveling during Meghan’s stint on RHOC. However, in the few appearances he made on the show, fans noticed how dismissive he was towards Meghan. During her seasons on RHOC, Meghan shared how she desperately wanted children and documented her IVF process, doing it mostly alone. Together, Meghan and Jim share three kids, Aspen, Hayes, and Hart Edmonds.
Meghan and Jim split after five years of marriage following a sexting scandal Jim had with another woman. Two years later, Jim started a relationship with Kortnie O’Connor, to whom he is now engaged. Jim proposed to Kortnie shortly after his divorce with Meghan was finalized. Meghan made headlines in December 2021 for her whirlwind marriage to Cuffe Biden Owns after meeting for less than a month. Just a short two months later, the pair split, and Meghan announced that their marriage is to be annulled.
Although Meghan’s life would have made for good television, the former RHOC star recently shared with E! News that she was rejected for season 16. She said that she auditioned to be a part of it but told E! News, “I didn’t get it.” However, she didn’t seem too disappointed as she added, “I don’t think I would have been able to have done it. It’s a time commitment, and I’m in St. Louis. I would have had to move and everything.” Meghan, who is originally from Missouri, moved back to her hometown after her divorce from Cuffe and stated that she is happy there.
Meghan shared that she would “definitely” move back to California if she were to be cast on RHOC again. She said that her time on the reality show was “so much fun.” Her guess as to why she was rejected for season 16 is, “I’m a little bit boring, my Midwest sensibility. Like I’m kind of just a normal person, you know, but I do interesting things.” Meghan created a lot of drama in her debut season of RHOC when she accused her castmate Vicki Gunvalson’s then-boyfriend Brooks Ayers of faking cancer. Meghan went as far as to investigate him and found out that he was lying about his so-called cancer treatments. Vicki retaliated by going after Jim and the two had a contentious relationship for some time.
Right now, Meghan is focusing on her kids and is still looking for love, but with someone with more “stability” and “similar value systems.” She added that she just wants to have fun and not have the relationship be too much work. Meghan has also been open about raising a child with disabilities and its challenges. Her son Hart was diagnosed with cerebral palsy caused by a brain injury, and Meghan shared how his condition affects her family’s daily lives. Although fans of The Real Housewives of Orange County may not see Meghan back in the near future, they can keep up with her through her lifestyle blog, where she shares her favorite products and personal essays about her life.
The Real Housewives of Orange County airs Wednesdays at 8 p.m. EST on Bravo.
