‘RHONJ’ recap: Jennifer Aydin reveals what she’d get in divorce from husband Bill

Reality TV

Jennifer Aydin doesn’t want to divorce her husband, Dr. Bill Aydin, just yet.

But if she does, the “Real Housewives of New Jersey” star is happy to walk away with half of the plastic surgeon’s fortune.

On Tuesday night’s episode of the Bravo reality show, Jennifer, 44, jokingly toasted to the potential dissolution of her marriage during a date night with Bill, 43.

“You think we’ll make it another 19 years? Because at this point, like, if anything happens, bitch, I get half! Let’s cheers to that, baby. Well, maybe not for you. But I’ll drink to that!” she said, while holding up her margarita.

A somber Bill responded, “Sometimes it’s hard to walk back from that, so if you start sitting there and counting for the last 19 years how each person had unhappy moments, then it’s not helping the equation.”

Jennifer admitted that marriage is “freaking work.” She then told Bill that she doesn’t want to “turn into” her mother, Josephine Altinel, whose resentment towards Jennifer’s father, John Altinel, has been documented on “RHONJ.”

The Bravolebrity also told Bill that her mom has decided to ignore his decade-old affair with a pharmaceutical rep, which was revealed by Margaret Josephs on the Season 12 premiere.

“I picked up my mom yesterday. The whole car ride home from the airport, she didn’t even mention anything about the affair,” she said. “Like, you would have thought she had an opinion on you — and she didn’t.”

Jennifer continued, “She was mad at Margaret. I mean, you saw how angry I was at Margaret. But also, I’m mad at you. I’ve been questioning our life together and our relationship.”

Bill, typically a man of few words, reminded Jennifer that his cheating episode “happened many years ago.”

But the mother of five — who shares kids Justin, 17, Gabriella, 14, Jacob, 13, Christian, 11, and Olivia, 10, with Bill — said that she still has suppressed feelings about the pain his infidelity inflicted.

“I don’t give a s—t. I was home. I was tending to three small children pregnant. You were doing your thing without any consideration of me,” she reflected.

“And I swallowed the pill that it was and I was like, ‘I’m going to be a tough girl and I’m not going to talk about it.’ And I’m sorry. I’m sick of always giving you a pass.”

Still, Jennifer clarified that she does “not want to go through” a divorce. “As long as two parties are always willing to keep working at it, then you’re golden,” she said. “Because when one of them checks out, that’s when you know it’s going downhill.”

In a confessional, Jennifer said that it felt “really good” to air her grievances directly with Bill.

“I didn’t hold back. I’m telling him finally what’s going through my mind,” she stated. “And now that the ball’s in his court, let’s see if he’ll finally do anything about it.”

“The Real Housewives of New Jersey” airs Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET on Bravo.
