Japanese Breakfast has shared a new installment of the Spotify Singles series, which is currently showcasing the 2022 Grammy nominees for Best New Artist. For this installment, she shared a cover of a song by previous Best New Artist winner Bon Iver. Listen to her cover of Justin Vernon’s “Skinny Love” below.

“We decided to record Bon Iver’s ‘Skinny Love’ because it felt like a very surprising cover for Japanese Breakfast,” Michelle Zauner said in a statement. It’s so moving and sparse. We felt we could add some interesting instrumentation to the track and celebrate our fellow label mate Bon Iver.”

In addition to her nomination for Best New Artist, Jubilee is nominated for Best Alternative Music Album. She recently revealed that she has no plans to beef with Machine Gun Kelly.
