Bethenny Frankel Slams Real Housewives Of New York Reboot As “Boring”

Reality TV

I think we all knew when Andy Cohen announced the unique plans for the future of Real Housewives of New York, there were going to be some strong opinions. And former iconic housewife Bethenny Frankel is full of strong options. So naturally, she took to social media to give her thoughts and throw some shade.

As reported by Page Six, Bethenny used a Tik Tok trend to express herself. She lip synced to audio that said “It’s a long story, and it’s very f–king boring.” Bethenny then captioned it, “My thoughts on the #RHONY reboot…” She added, “Jesus. Like, f–k.” In the video, Bethenny inexplicably held a cocktail while reading through a book about Barbie. A pink Chanel purse was placed in the background.

Fans and critics overran her comments section with their own thoughts. One said, “Of coirse [sic] she’s the #1 ranked housewife! RHONY was nothing until Bethenny. Don’t say that to Ramona [Singer] tho. Her head might explode!” Another begged, “PLEASE COME BACK QUEEN.” One user wrote, “Bethenny you KNOW you’re coming back for the RHONY all stars show. we all do.”

Bethenny actually replied and said,  “Oh yeah?” She even responded to another fan who stated, “It won’t be the same without you but I’m loving seeing you in this post housewives era!!” Bethenny wrote back, “YES.” Just stirring the pot! When someone else excitedly wrote, “B DROPPED SOME TEAAAA,” Bethenny replied,  “Never.”

All this stemmed from Andy’s announcement that RHONY will be split into two franchises. The first one being a complete reboot of the famous franchise. Said Andy, “There are thousands of stories to tell here. This is the most multicultural, diverse and energetic and exciting city in America. We are searching for a multicultural group of friends who really best reflect the most exciting city in the country. We’re looking for a group of women who are real friends and who are of diverse backgrounds, races and religions.”

But the new addition to the series, tentatively titled RHONY: Legacy will feature past cast members. Hence, the Bethenny speculation. Which Andy didn’t avoid when making the announcement. He said of B, “Listen, I go back with Bethenny since the beginning. She’s moved to Connecticut, but she’s still in the Hamptons. Her life is now evolved to another place, so I can’t imagine her wanting to do it. But of course, you know, I never turn down a conversation with Bethenny about coming back.”

Even if Bethenny isn’t interested, there are a few former housewives who certainly are. Jill Zarin posted a phone emoji and tagged Andy on Bravo’s Instagram, signaling she wants a call. Dorinda Medley also recently teased, “I’m always open to it, and I enjoyed doing it. I’m a good ‘Housewife.’”

As for Bethenny’s current projects, she’s hard any work helping Ukrainian refugees fleeing the war. So far, Bethenny and her foundation has raised over $25 million in cash and aid.
