Vanderpump Rules fans were surprised that Katie Maloney and Tom Schwartz decided to call it quits. Their 12-year relationship certainly had its ups and downs. There were the prolific rage texts from “Tequila Katie,” and Tom’s drunken cheating. Ah–memories.
Before the break up, even Tom marveled at the fact that they were still together. “We’ve been through so much and I mean, arguably at so many points in our relationship, you could say, ‘They probably should’ve broken up or gone their separate ways,’” he said.
In January of 2022, Katie admitted that the Pump Rules duo fought a lot of the time. Even though it was Katie’s decision to end the marriage, Tom actually took full responsibility for the failure of the relationship. Shocking! Is Tom finally becoming an adult?
Then we have the messy split of VPR couple Lala Kent and ex-fiancé Randall Emmett. The couple share a daughter together, Ocean Emmett.
After Randall was allegedly spotted in Nashville with two ladies who were definitely not Lala, she kicked him to the curb. While Lala was “blindsided” by the end of her relationship with Randall, she has since been open about his devious behavior. Lala claimed that Randall cheated with “many” women, and that he proposed with a “fake” diamond ring. At this point, Lala and Randall communicate solely through an app in regard to Ocean.

People reported that Lala commented on her friends’ split during an Amazon Live discussion. Lala remarked, “It’s so sad. It’s very sad — that’s the most perfect and only way to put it.” She added, “I thought their statements were very well thought out and I know that there is still love there.” I think that Tom and Katie will always be friends.
“I’m sad for them, but I know that they are always going to be extremely close because that’s just how they are. They are both incredible people,” Lala stated.
A source previously told People that the duo had been lacking “intimacy” in their relationship and acted like “terrific roommates.” Is this source named Tom Sandoval? Just kidding.

So, what ultimately led to the end of the couple’s marriage? Katie explained what a tough decision it was for her on her podcast, You’re Going To Love Me. “I felt like I was drifting away further and further away. It was the hardest hardest thing to do,” Katie explained. “The hardest thing to tell him, because I knew it was gonna crush him.”
She added that the couple had been separated for over a month, and that this wasn’t a snap decision on their part. The Pump Rules star continued, “There wasn’t some kind of crazy incident that happened, there wasn’t some crazy fight that resulted in this.”
Katie also said that she and Tom are still living together. VPR co-star Ariana Madix confirmed that Tom was not couch-surfing at her home with Sandoval.
The soon-to-be ex Bubbas are so cordial since their split that they grabbed a drink together. Kudos to the couple for handling their split maturely and not forcing anyone to choose sides, unlike Lala.
