Teddi Mellencamp Wouldn’t Want To Return As “Friend” On Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills

Reality TV

Teddi Mellencamp Arroyave wasn’t exactly a fan favorite during her tenure on Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. In fact, there were regular pleas from fans to fire Teddi for being just plain boring. Oh and for being Kyle Richards’ minion. Eventually, Bravo caught on and she was axed after three seasons.

Which she apparently tried at length to avoid. On a previous episode of her podcast, Two T’s In A Pod, Teddi admitted she even contacted production to plead her case. Teddi revealed, “At the end of my season, I was mad. I texted, the quote I texted was: ‘I’ve trended on Twitter every single week from hate and you aren’t giving me anything else but the negative. Please, I’m doing the work, I’m showing up. I need you to show my life in some other capacity.’ And ultimately, the goodbye happened two weeks later.” She added, “I was completely surprised.”

Despite the hasty exit, Teddi appeared for one filmed event the following season. Erika Jayne’s Christmas From Hell, where Teddi defended her former castmate from the barrage of questions regarding her legal issues. And it’s no surprise she defended her – Teddi has remained fast friends with her former co-stars. But she wants more than just a one episode appearance.

As reported by Reality Blurb, she does make a quick appearance on season 12. She explained, “There’s one episode where I’m working for Extra and I’m covering an event that the Housewives are at. But in regards to filming in-scene, doing a drop-in like that is not something I’m interested in doing.”

Teddi also doesn’t want to be a “friend of” either. When asked if she would consider it, she replied with a firm, “No.” But she did admit that she misses parts of the show. Said Teddi, “The good news is the women I’m friends with I still see and talk to all the time, so that’s not missing. But I mean, it was a big part of my life for a long time. But I’m happier without it. But of course you miss things.”

She added, “It’s like that boyfriend that didn’t treat you the best but you still think about him from time to time.”

Back to the whole being-Kyle’s-minion thing – Teddi was regularly criticized for stirring the pot. She often (and awkwardly) brought up drama that the others weren’t willing to stick their necks out on. But Teddi says no one made her do it a certain way. Especially not the producers she has spoken of so fondly.

Teddi confirmed of producers, “They would say, after information would come to me, or if I would vent to them, they would say, ‘Would you prefer to tell the person to their face or would you want to tell it to one of the other women?’ And I always chose to their face, which sometimes bit me in the butt. You have to talk about it. That’s part of what you signed up to do.”
