Welcome To Plathville: Why Moriah Set The Record Straight About Her Style

Movies

Moriah Plath has gotten thousands of comments about her changing looks from Welcome To Plathville fans and set the record straight in an Instagram story. Moriah has had several different hair colors in the past year, first blonde with black undertones, bright purple, neon pink, and now platinum blonde. She also dresses the least conservatively out of the Plath kids, leading many to call her the rebellious child. Check out what Moriah had to say about her looks and how her style developed.

Throughout three seasons of Welcome To Plathville, Moriah has had the reputation for rebelling the most against her parents. In the first season, Moriah wore the most makeup and resisted the clothing her strict parents insisted all nine kids wore. Unlike her siblings, she wore more revealing tank tops and dreamt of life outside of their large farm in rural Georgia. By season 2, Moriah had been essentially kicked out of the family home with her older brother, Micah Plath, because the two were accused of being a bad influence on the younger kids. She and Micah celebrated their freedom in different ways, with Micah becoming a model and Moriah focusing on secular music.

In Moriah‘s Instagram story, she addressed fans who felt that her style came because she was oppressed by her strict parents. She insisted that the reason behind the way she dresses is because it is how she always wanted to look. Moriah recently got several new tattoos, which all have a special meaning to her and though she still considers herself a rebel, Moriah said she has found what fits for her. Moriah added that she is not doing this to get attention or to spite her parents, but rather because it is her living as her authentic self.

Moriah’s relationship with her parents was much better by Welcome To Plathville season 3, as they were beginning to understand each other better. Kim and Barry Plath supported her blossoming music career as well as her relationship with now ex-boyfriend, Max Kallschmidt, even when they kissed in front of her younger siblings. Moriah insisted that she is closer to her parents than she has been in years, even with the way she dresses, and she has gained a new respect for them.

Lots of Welcome To Plathville fans have shown Moriah love as she finds her true self, while others have worried that her “black heart” and rebel ways are bad signs for her future. She has also divided fans with her latest pole dancing video, as some loved how she tries new things and others felt that it was too provocative. Welcome To Plathville season 4 will hopefully follow more of Moriah’s journey to learning more about herself.
