J.J. Abrams and his Bad Robot Productions are working on a scripted Netflix series about U2, according to The Hollywood Reporter, Variety, and Deadline. The show will reportedly be written by Anthony McCarten, who penned the screenplay for the Oscar-nominated Queen biopic Bohemian Rhapsody. According to The Hollywood Reporter, U2 are “expected to be involved and sanction the project.”

U2 have been the subject of several movies, namely 1988’s Rattle and Hum, the 2008 concert film U2 3D, and the 2011 documentary From the Sky Down. Last year, Bono voiced a reclusive lion rock star named Clay Calloway in the animated movie Sing 2. The band also contributed the original song “Your Song Saved My Life” to the soundtrack.
