The latest actor to sign on for the Sam Raimi-produced action thriller Boy Kills World is Michelle Dockery (“Downton Abbey”), Deadline is reporting this afternoon.
Deadline notes, “Michelle Dockery will play the sister of the film’s Van der Koy family. Melanie is a satirical powerhouse and sociopath who tries to project a powerful cohesive family image to hide the desperation behind their decaying dynasty.”
Famke Janssen (The Postcard Killings) and Sharlto Copley (District 9) joined the cast earlier this week, along with Brett Gelman (Stranger Things), Quinn Copeland (Peacock’s Punky Brewster), and twins Cameron and Nicholas Crovetti (Big Little Lies).
Happy Death Day star Jessica Rothe is part of an ensemble cast that includes the previously announced Bill Skarsgård (IT), Yayan Ruhian (John Wick 3, The Raid: Redemption), Andrew Koji (Warrior, Snake Eyes) and Isaiah Mustafa (It: Chapter Two).
Moritz Mohr is directing the movie, written by Arend Remmers (Sløborn) and Tyler Burton Smith (Kung Fury: The Movie). Boy Kills World is said to be a “one-of-a-kind action spectacle set in a dystopian fever dream reality.”
“Boy (Skarsgård) is a deaf-mute with a vibrant imagination. When his family is murdered, Boy escapes to the jungle and is trained by a mysterious shaman to repress his childish imagination and become an instrument of death.”
Sam Raimi is producing the film alongside Roy Lee.
