Below Deck Sailing Yacht Star Daisy Kelliher Says She Isn’t “Attracted To” Gary King

Reality TV

Finally! Someone from Below Deck Sailing Yacht is saying what we’ve all been thinking.  That it would be stupid to get involved with First Mate Gary King. The sentiment is not surprising. But what is surprising is that it comes from the mouth of Chief Stew Daisy Kelliher. Shocker.

Afterall, Daisy and Gary have been making quite the Below Deck tour. Hot on the heels of the Season trailer have been nothing but rumors about their romance. There was that trip to Disneyland, where they teased being together. Then there was their joint statement regarding Jean-Luc Cerza Lanaux‘s paternity kerfuffle with Dani Soares. And let’s not forget, Daisy’s assertion that she intimidates the heck out of third stew Ashley Marti.

Ashley‘s definitely walking back her obsession with kissing Gary, calling him an “average” kisser. Personally, I think she’s really just mad at Daisy for giving the second stew position to Gabriella Barragan. But that’s just me.  Where it ends up is still anyone’s guess, since we’ve only had one episode so far. Gonna have to watch it all play out before I officially believe Ashley.

In an exclusive interview with Us Weekly, Daisy explains that she and Gary, “are just friends. We’re lucky that we are two adults who can share a kiss and still be friends.” Um, I’m not sure that’s an accurate depiction of friendship, but I’ll let it slide. This time.

According to Daisy, the photo was just a joke. “I honestly got such a kick out of how people were jumping to conclusions when we posted a photo together at Disneyland. So, our phones were blowing up. [Gary] did the joke story being, like, ‘Yeah, we’re dating.’”

On Season 2, Gary and Daisy often butted heads. Usually because of Gary’s incessant need to take a smoke break whenever Daisy asked from help from the deck crew. Can’t argue with that. Because of their desire to put the past behind them, Daisy said, “I think why it got complicated is because we were both a bit upset about how we spoke about each other last season. It ended up [with] us, like, flirting and I guess maybe building a bit of sexual tension, which wasn’t our intention.” Sure Jan.

Daisy went on to say, “Gary’s a magnet. Like, there’s a reason why he gets all these girls. He’s very, very funny. He’s very charming. He is very charismatic, and I get it and I normally am drawn to that. Everyone loves a good flirt, and I don’t find him attractive, but I could see the draw.” So, which is it? I’m thinking there’s a whole lot more to this story than meets the eye.
