Formerly known as The Real World Road Rules Challenge, rebranded The Challenge now draws players from all different reality walks of life. Considering Road Rules has long been disbanded, and The Real World is enjoying success placing original cast members back together, this is probably a good thing. And perhaps the only way to find new blood.
This has an interesting effect of bringing together people who might never have met otherwise. Case in point Morgan Willett and Johnny Devenanzio. Morgan won her season of Big Brother, and then went on to join her ex-boyfriend and Survivor contestant, Jay Starrett, on season 2 of Ex on the Beach. Johnny Bananas has been a longtime “face” of The Challenge. He currently holds the most wins and has appeared in the most seasons.
Morgan and Bananas met on War of the Worlds. They played coy about any type of relationship, other than friendship while filming. After filming was another story. The duo ended up dating for two and a half years before breaking up.
At the time, all we had to go on was a hazy video that may or may not have been Bananas making out with a girl who was definitely not Morgan. That, and a bunch of deeply hurt Instagram stories on Morgan’s page.
Interestingly, Morgan never did more than that one challenge. Bananas told her if she were to film reality again, they would be done. Girl! An ultimatum is never a good sign. Especially when the one giving the ultimatum has no problem appearing on the next season of The Challenge himself. With your ex, Jay, no less. Red flags from a mile away.
According to E! News, Morgan is now ready to talk about the break-up. It seems that she was more than aware that something shady was going on. And that video had nothing to do with it.

On a recent episode of the FML Talk podcast, Morgan shared that she had received a DM warning her about Johnny making out with someone else. “I couldn’t shake that. I could not ignore that one for some reason. That one was eating my soul. I don’t want to believe it. I really don’t want to believe it. I want my person to so badly look at me and think that I’m enough.” That’s just sad.
Even with the DM however, Morgan didn’t want to believe it. It wasn’t until she returned home from a girls trip to find a hungover Bananas and freshly washed sheets in the laundry, that she began to put two and two together.
“They were not put back. They were just taken out of the washing machine and clean sheets were ready to be put back on. I don’t know what made me think, ‘Something is so wrong right now…He’s hungover and he just picked me up. He said he wasn’t out that late. Why? Nothing else is being cleaned.’” Things that make you go hmmm, indeed.
When Johnny neglected to kiss Morgan goodnight, she really began to question things. A week later, she got a call from a mutual friend letting her know that Bananas had taken someone else home with him that night. Ouch.

Johnny of course denied it all. But if it looks like a duck and walks like a duck… Morgan saw things the same way. “You have no choice. You can’t stay in this situation anymore. You can’t lie to yourself. You’re gonna lose it.” Girlfriend packed her bags and walked out.
According to Morgan, “All I wanted was a hug. I wanted an ‘I’m sorry.’ I wanted any sort of comfort and I was met with kind of like coldness. ‘I didn’t do it’ I think is the last thing I heard as I walked out and shut the door behind me and I think that’s what’s hard. Two and a half years down the drain and all you want to hear is ‘I made a mistake’ or ‘You were enough and it just wasn’t meant to be’ or an explanation in general…I didn’t get that in the moment, which is why I think it’s been very, very difficult for me.”
I’m not sure why she’s surprised, after all, both Susie Meister and Sarah Rice have been talking for years about Johnny‘s lack of loyalty. They claim he’s cheated on all his girlfriends, many of them while filming The Challenge. It’s a whole vibe. And not a good look.
