A new promotional video for DC offers new footage from The Batman, The Flash, Black Adam, and Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom. DC only released James Gunn’s The Suicide Squad and Zack Snyder’s Justice League in 2021. However, Warner Bros. is ramping up its superhero movie production in 2022 by releasing a string of films in the next several months.
Instead of simply focusing their efforts on building the DCEU, Warner Bros. is attempting to establish their multiverse. This means that aside from one continuity, there are also several timelines in development. Matt Reeves’ The Batman exists in a separate reality from the rest of the upcoming live-action movies from DC Films. Still, since they all feature characters from the comic book brand, Warner Bros. decides to market them all together as part of their 2022 slate.
With that, a brand new promotional video highlights the roster of live-action movies that DC Films have this year. The clip features new looks at The Batman, The Flash, Black Adam, and Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom. Given their roster of upcoming projects, Warner Bros. notes that “2022 is the year for heroes.” Check out the clip below:

Aside from the aforementioned movies, Warner Bros. is also set to release the animated film, DC League of Super-Pets. The film revolves around Superman’s dog, Krypto (voiced by Dwayne Johnson), assembling his own team to save the captured Justice League. Looking at the entire slate, it’s a more diverse offering compared to its closest competitor, Marvel Studios. The MCU only has three blockbusters scheduled for 2022, but all of them are sequels: Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, Thor: Love and Thunder, and Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. Given this, the usually perceived struggling DC Films can make strides this year and prove themselves to be the power player that they should be in the comic book movie sandbox.
Of course, it will still depend on the quality of these movies. Over the last years, DC Films have come out with interesting stories, but they just couldn’t execute them properly. Because of that, fans were more disappointed because the potential was there. This year, with The Batman, The Flash, Black Adam, and Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, hopefully, they will deliver on their respective promises. In any case, it didn’t seem like these four DCEU projects had significant production issues like their predecessors. So, perhaps Warner Bros. finally learned their lesson in terms of over-meddling with their blockbusters.
