Jennifer Aydin revealed on Tuesday night’s episode of “The Real Housewives of New Jersey” that she confronted her husband, Dr. Bill Aydin, about his affair one day before she gave birth to their now-10-year-old son, Christian.
“I was pregnant. We had just moved to Jersey. It was my fourth kid,” Jennifer, 44, told co-stars Teresa Giudice and Dolores Catania at her home.
“He was not around, he was working a lot and he was really feeling himself for a bit,” she continued. “He was making money.”
The Bravolebrity went to say that she discovered the plastic surgeon’s tryst with a pharmaceutical rep via a credit card receipt.
“They went to a club, VIP, it was like bottle service,” Jennifer explained.
“That was my first red flag and then I saw a text message in his phone and I confronted him with it, and he admitted it.”
The mom of five — who also shares Justin, 17, Gabriella, 14, Jacob, 12, and Olivia, 9, with Bill, 43 — noted that she was in a vulnerable position at the time of her husband’s infidelity as she was a “stay-at-home mom” with “no income” of her own.
“I was like, ‘OK, do you want a divorce?’ He was like, ‘No.’ I was like, ‘Do you love her?’ He said, ‘No!’” she recounted to Giudice and Catania. “I said, ‘Is it over?’ He said, ‘It’s been over.’”
Jennifer admitted that she “got angry” during the confrontation and even “threw things” at Bill in the heat of the moment.
“Literally the next day I had Christian,” she added. “Once the baby came and we were having our moments, I was just like, ‘I want to make it work if he wants to make it work.’ And we never f–king spoke about it again.”
Earlier this month, Jennifer exclusively told Page Six that her daughter Olivia found out about her father’s affair while scrolling through TikTok.
“I sat her down and I kept my composure because I realized [my kids] will react to however Mommy’s acting,” Jennifer said, recalling how she explained the situation to her youngest child.
“I put on a brave face and said, ‘Listen, Daddy did a bad thing. But that doesn’t mean that he’s a bad person. And when we love people, we forgive them when they make mistakes. And I’ve forgiven him and I’m OK.’ She wasn’t upset because I wasn’t upset.”
Jennifer planned to take Bill’s entanglement to her grave. But according to the reality star, they are in a “great space” today after Margaret Josephs forced them to address it on camera.
“I didn’t want to be the one to bring it up and ever talk about it because that would be at the expense of my children and it wasn’t worth it for me. But since [Margaret] did bring it up and since I do have to talk about it, I’m going to use it as therapy and find it cathartic and therapeutic,” she said.
“Signing up for this show, that’s what I agreed to do — to show the good, the bad and the ugly. It’s not easy.”
“The Real Housewives of New Jersey” airs Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET on Bravo.
