Why There’s No Young Sheldon This Week (When Will Season 5 Ep 14 Release?)

Movies

There is no Young Sheldon this week, and it could take quite a while before it returns with a fresh episode. As The Big Bang Theory prequel’s current year enters its final stretch, CBS is pulling the brakes on the show. Granted, there’s a special reason why.

Young Sheldon season 5 premiered later than usual due to the coronavirus pandemic. Despite that, it has proven to be worth the wait as the show has offered balanced storytelling thus far, giving each cast member a plotline of their own instead of simply focusing on Sheldon (Iain Armitage). Some of the arcs this year include George (Lance Barber) and Brenda’s (Melissa Peterman) affair, as well as Georgie’s (Montana Jordan) decision to drop out of school, leading him to team up with Meemaw (Annie Potts) for a business. Meanwhile, both Mary (Zoe Perry) and Missy (Raegan Revord) began liking Youth Pastor Rob (Dan Byrd).

Young Sheldon season 5 debuted in early October 2021, airing seven consecutive episodes before taking a brief hiatus for the Thanksgiving holiday. After debuting two more episodes in December, the CBS spinoff took another break for Christmas. Young Sheldon returned to air four episodes throughout January 2022, but viewers will have to wait a bit for season 5 to continue.

As Young Sheldon season 5 nears its conclusion, however, it seems to shift its focus back to its titular character. But fans will have to wait for a while before finding out what’s next for the character. Not long after it returned from its mandatory holiday hiatus, The Big Bang Theory spin-off is once again taking another break this February. This is to pave the way for the Winter Olympics 2022 hosted by Beijing, China. The global sporting event will be available to watch on NBC, but CBS decided to pause their regular programming schedule for it.

When Will Young Sheldon Season 5, Episode 14 Release?

Typically, hiatuses caused by special events tend to last for a week. However, that isn’t the case for Young Sheldon season 5, episode 14. CBS has yet to announce when a new episode of The Big Bang Theory prequel show will premiere. At this point, the network has scheduled reruns for the next three weeks, which could very well continue depending on the circumstances. Based on this, it seems like the earliest viewers can expect a fresh outing of Young Sheldon would be on February 24th.

Ming-Na Wen Will Guest Star In Young Sheldon Season 5 Episode 14

CBS is making sure, however, that all this wait for a brand new episode of The Big Bang Theory spin-off will be worth it. Young Sheldon season 5, episode 14. titled “A Free Scratcher and Feminine Wiles” will feature a big guest star in Agents of SHIELD and Book of Boba Fett star, Ming-Na Wen. In the outing, she plays Dr. Carol Lee — East Texas Tech’s director of experimental cosmology. As with most of his teachers, Sheldon will have a tumultuous dynamic with Lee, although it’s currently uncertain what their argument will be about. Nevertheless, it seems like another interesting outing for the socially-inept genius, especially after his disastrous but fun night with his first group of nerdy friends.
