James Kennedy and Raquel Leviss didn’t have sex for two years before breakup

James Kennedy and Raquel Leviss’ engagement was struggling long before she returned her ring to him — so much so that they didn’t have sex for two years prior to their breakup.

The shocker came during part one of the “Vanderpump Rules” reunion, which aired Tuesday, after Kennedy, 30, admitted he didn’t feel as though Leviss, 27, was his “soulmate.”

“We haven’t been having sex for a while,” Leviss chimed in, noting that quarantine took a toll on their relationship.

A visibly shocked Andy Cohen then asked the exes, who broke up in December after five years together, when they stopped having sex.

“It’s been a while. It’s been, like, through COVID, like, we didn’t really …” Kennedy said before trailing off.

“It’s been since those rage texts that James sent me,” Leviss then clarified, referencing one of her ex-fiancé’s outbursts from 2019.

“That was two summers ago,” a stunned Scheana Shay noted.

Cohen, 53, then pointed out that Leviss was still wearing her engagement ring.

“I’m gonna give it back to him. Do you want it now?” she asked her ex.

“Sure,” Kennedy replied as she pulled the ring off her finger and returned it to him.

“Thank you. That’s a bitcoin,” he quipped.

Earlier in the reunion, which was filmed prior to their public split announcement, the pair broke the news to their castmates.

“We’ve decided to break off the engagement,” Leviss began.

“It’s been something that I’ve been thinking about for a while, and I think that James has noticed my heart hasn’t been fully in it.”

When Cohen asked whether she was the one to break it off, Leviss explained they “both came to the conclusion.”

“I’ve been having nightmares about our wedding, and I think that that’s, like, a telltale sign that something’s wrong,” she continued, noting that she didn’t want to “give up” on her fiancé because “he really has shown me how dedicated he is to me.”

Cohen then asked whether the news was just as shocking to the former couple’s co-stars.

“I’m completely floored by it,” Ariana Madix said, noting that she had been with the pair at Disneyland just a few days prior.

Lisa Vanderpump, meanwhile, told Kennedy that she didn’t understand the breakup.

“You’ve gotta stop prodding at it. We’ve worked on it. We worked on our relationship,” he replied while choking back tears.

“And I feel like after I quit drinking, you know, I just, like, thought that would fix it. But I didn’t quite fix it all, you know?”

The pair, who lived together for three years, announced their split in a joint statement shortly after filming the Season 9 reunion.

“After these 5 wonderful years we had together, we decided we have two different goals and made the decision to call off the engagement,” they wrote in Instagram posts shared on Dec. 5.

“We love each other very much, but we aren’t in love anymore. We want nothing but the best for each other so please keep any thoughts positive. Sending Love.”

Part two of the “Vanderpump Rules” reunion airs Wednesday at 9 p.m. ET on Bravo.
