Mary Cosby Didn’t Film Real Housewives Of Salt Lake City Reunion

Reality TV

What happened to accountability? Real Housewives of Salt Lake City star Mary Cosby doesn’t seem to show any. To say this hasn’t been a good season for Mary is an understatement. Her controversial church was supposed to be front and center for her dramatic storyline. But it was quickly overshadowed by racially insensitive remarks. Yes, remarks plural.

Now Page Six is reporting that Mary didn’t even bother to face the music for the season 2 reunion, which was recently filmed. A source close to production confirmed, “Mary did not attend the reunion.” Another insider added that Mary didn’t go because she “did not want to confront the controversy surrounding her this season.”

The source explained, “She was terrified of getting grilled about her ‘racist’ comments made toward Jennie [Nguyen] and Jen [Shah]. She also did not want to discuss the accusations that she runs a cult.”

We all know from Adrienne Maloof and  Lisa Vanderpump that skipping out on the reunion is a big no-no when it comes to being asked back for the next season. And presumably, if a housewife doesn’t show up, they are sending a clear message that they are done. As production for season 3 of RHOSLC starts in the next coming weeks, the insider noted that Mary will “most likely” not be asked back.

The insider added, “This was the kiss of death for Mary. She hardly has any alliances left in the cast, who hoped she would have shown up to the reunion to take accountability for her behavior and the allegations about her church.”

Mary is likely buckling under the pressure of her own words this season. She has deservedly taken a lot of heat for making a racially insensitive comment to castmate Jennie about her eyes. Jennie, who is Asian, quickly got Mary together in a recent episode and then promised to “hold people accountable” at the reunion.

Mary denied having bad intentions and tweeted after the episode, “I wasn’t coming from a place of racist! I was complimenting! I’m not racist by definition! Sick of people judging me as if you can!” When a fan asked if Mary would apologize to Jennie, she curtly replied, “Never.”

Sadly, this wasn’t the first time Mary felt the heat for her poor choice of words. Mary found herself apologizing after an episode where she called Jen a “Mexican thug” when talking about her arrest and legal problems. Mary wrote in a statement, “I was not trying to single out the Mexican culture. I am African American and I know racism first hand. I’ve lived it daily my entire life.”

To top it off, since the beginning, Mary has faced rumors and allegations that the church runs is a “cult.” She’s been accused of manipulating and shaming her congregation into donations to fund her expensive lifestyle. Mary has denied these claims.

As for being a no-show, Mary has yet to respond to requests for comment.

TELL US – WHY DO YOU REALLY THINK MARY SKIPPED THE REUNION? DO YOU WANT HER TO BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE FOR HER WORDS? DO YOU THINK SHE WILL BE INVITED BACK FOR ANOTHER SEASON? SHOULD SHE BE?
