Vanderpump Rules: 10 Fan Pet Peeves, According to Reddit

Movies

Vanderpump Rules is currently in its ninth season. Many speculate that this will be the Bravo show’s final season because of tiring controversies, the firing of former castmates, and a lack of interesting storylines. Nevertheless, the Real Housewives spinoff still has its diehard fans and supporters, but there is also a group of people who are bothered by the continuation of the series.

Fans on Reddit talked about pet peeves that surround the show — ranging from facial expressions to inaccurate grammar usage by the show’s stars. As much as fans love to hate this group of friends, they also can’t help but love and support them. For Vanderpump Rules fans, it’s a love-hate relationship.

Lala’s Use Of “Human Being”

Lala has crossed the line multiple times due to her aggression, honesty, and lifestyle. However, she’s a person whom fans can’t help but support when she’s down. At the end of the day, Lala has a good heart but can have a hard time conveying that.

“The one thing that appears to bother more than one fan is her use of ‘human being.;” Tohoco7788 said, “I think about her saying ‘human being,’ ‘I’m a human being,’ ‘from one human being to another’ all the time and I can’t explain why it annoys me but it does.”

One Word: Bubba

Katie and Tom have been a part of the series since the start, and throughout the years there’s been one thing consistent about their relationship — Bubba, their pet name for each other.

“Mine [pet peeve] is definitely Katie & Tom’s ‘Bubba’ talk,” said one fan on Reddit. Others chimed in and said that their use of the nickname during arguments doesn’t negate how toxic their relationship can be at times.

Scheana Has A Lot Of Best Friends

Scheana has had her fair share of boyfriends over the years on Vanderpump Rules, but none of them stuck like her current fiancé Brock Davies. And while every relationship of hers has been different, the one thing they all have in common is that Scheana has called every boyfriend on-screen her “best friend.”

RestaurantDecent9451 wrote, “Anytime [any one] of them says ‘You’re my best friend!’ Like, you guys are in your mid to late [thirties,] you’re not in high school anymore.” To further that notion, others simply wrote, “You’re my best friend” about Scheana’s overuse of the phrase as their pet peeve.

The Tom X Tom X Lisa Flirtation Is Odd

Best friends Tom Sandoval and Tom Schwartz went from working for Lisa to working with Lisa. The trio now co-owns a restaurant, TomTom, and have created a wonderful brand for themselves in West Hollywood.

However, their bond can cross the line at times. Both Toms have said they had crushes on Lisa (who is not only married but their boss and business partner) despite being in committed relationships themselves. There are even Reddit fan theories that suggest there’s more to this so-called friendship, but Lisa has laughed at the thought. PuraVidaPagan noted how irksome their relationship is at times, saying, “Schwartz’s weird fake fetish with LVP, the whole thing is so cringe.”

Lala’s Aggressiveness

If there’s one person whom Vanderpump Rules fans take the most issue with on Reddit, it’s Lala Kent. Although Lala was busy in-between seasons and is a new woman with a newborn and a stable relationship (at the time), fans can’t get over her past mistakes.

Five_and_diamond noted that “Screaming over everyone when losing an argument” and “Constantly saying ‘come for me’ and getting the rest of the cast to say it too,” are two pet peeves they have with her.

When Isn’t Jax A Work In Progress?

Jax claimed he's a self-sabotger on WWHL

Former castmates Jax and Brittany have been doing well since leaving the show. The two had a relationship with high highs and low lows but are now enjoying time as parents off-camera.

Although Jax is on a better path now, he’s still largely seen as a villain on VPR. Last_Brook2410 said that their biggest pet peeve with Jax is how often he said he was “a work-in-progress.” Jax said this phrase a few times over the years and even Andy Cohen called him out on it because he wasn’t learning from his mistakes or changing his behavior.

Hopping On The “PJ”

The original cast of Vanderpump Rules

What made Vanderpump Rules so intriguing in the first couple of seasons is how “real” the cast was. They were mostly struggling actors, models, or bloggers who worked at SUR as a side gig and lived in small apartments, drove broken down cars, and went through the same struggles as many of the show’s fans. Over time, the cast made more and more money and the show became less about working at a restaurant. And with the money came lavish getaways on private planes.

_My9RidesShotgun’s pet peeve revolved around their new swanky life. “[My pet peeve] is for all of them calling private jets ‘PJs.’ Like, it just seems like something a broke/new money person who’s trying to fit in with actual rich people would say,” they told Reddit. The gang did ride private more when Lala introduced her then-boyfriend, Randall, to everyone.

Katie Goes For The Jugular

Katie isn’t the hottest mess in the Vanderpump Rules group but she doesn’t back down when there’s a disagreement.

While no one is perfect, it bothers MicrowaveSafe- that Katie calls people “dumb” when she’s losing an argument. “Katie telling people ‘You sound DUMB right now’ anytime she simply doesn’t agree with their opinion” was their biggest pet peeve.

James Uses “Darling” To Be Condescending

James arguing with someone outside on Vanderpump Rules

James joined the series as Kristen Doute’s boyfriend and a barback at SUR but he eventually became a main cast member with his own storylines outside of Kristen. One of the things that James has dealt with over the years has been his issues with addiction and anger. James is known for going too far and has been working on that in season 9.

Five_And_Diamond found an issue with the way James speaks to people. They wrote, “The way he calls women ‘Darlin’ when he’s being rude AF.” Fans of the show found it to be condescending when he spoke down to others while calling them a pet name.

Beau’s One Shot At A New Opportunity

Former castmate Stassi had her villainous moments on the show, but her fiancé Beau made her light-hearted and less intimidating. But as charming as he was to some, others had a bone to pick with him.

FrontPaigeNewz disliked Beau’s popular puns. “When [Beau] tried to do ‘cooking tutorials’ and would make everything into a pun with his name. ‘Beau-perol Spritz,’ ‘Chef Beau-Ardee…” they wrote. Despite his puns. when taking a look at the entire cast, fans had the fewest issues with Beau.
