The former members of Japanese psych-rock band Les Rallizes Dénudés—and the estate of late frontman Takashi Mizutani—have shared “White Awakening – 白い目覚め,” the band’s first-ever official digital release. The song is the first in a series of reissues planned for the band. It’s set to appear on OZ Days Live: ’72-’73 Kichijoji – 50th Anniversary Collection, which is due for a summer 2022 release via Temporal Drift. Check out “White Awakening – 白い目覚め” below.

Formed in 1967 at Kyoto University, the band performed together until 1996. In 2008, Ignuitas released Eve Night, a live recording of a 1983 set at Housei University in Tokyo, Japan. Until now, most of the band’s physical releases—and all of their digital releases—have been pirated bootlegs. “White Awakening”’s December 11 release marked the second anniversary of Mizutani’s death in 2019.
