Another new poster for Spider-Man: No Way Home has been released, and it shows off the titular web-head swinging in Doctor Strange’s Mirror Dimension. The marketing for the next entry in the MCU from Marvel Studios and Sony is in full swing with two weeks to go before it hits theaters. Fans have finally been able to catch glimpses of the new and returning characters from the constant flow of new posters and TV spots. These show off many aspects of the film while still remaining coy about the larger aspects of it. They have also been exciting for fans, as they have been able to see some familiar Spider-Man faces coming back for No Way Home.
Spider-Man: No Way Home picks up directly after the events of its predecessor, Spider-Man: Far From Home. The end of that film saw Mysterio expose Peter Parker’s (Tom Holland) secret identity and frame him for his (supposed) murder. In an effort to regain his anonymity, Parker turns to Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) for a spell to erase everyone’s memory so they’ll forget they learned that he is Spider-Man. This does not end well for them, as it opens up the multiverse, bringing in Spider-Man villains from previous Sony movies. In addition to the multiverse insanity, Parker has to deal with the world of magic that Strange is a part of.
Now, another poster has been released for No Way Home, and it shows off how much more of Parker’s world will be expanding. The poster, which was released by IMAX, shows the web-slinger swinging around in a New York City that is in the Mirror Dimension, which was seen in Doctor Strange and briefly in Avengers: Infinity War when Strange fights Thanos. In terms of the marketing, it seems like Doctor Strange will play a large part in the movie. He has been in every trailer and many of the posters and TV spots, so having this poster focus on an important aspect of Strange’s character makes sense. Of course, he could have a role like Tony Stark in Spider-Man: Homecoming, where he did not have a large amount of screen time, but his presence was felt throughout the film, affecting Parker and the events that played out over the course of the runtime. He is also the one who casts the spell bringing in the multiverse villains and the rumored Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield iterations of Spider-Man, so his large focus also ties into that. Parker will seemingly be entering the Mirror Dimension, but it is unclear why exactly, except that it will be because of his involvement with Strange.
With the movie coming out very soon, the marketing teams have quite the job ahead of them. They’ve done a great job at not spoiling many of the big moments that will be seen, so hopefully that trend continues for the next two weeks. After all, audiences will not want to see everything spoiled before going in to this massive film. Fans can check out how Spider-Man ends up in the Mirror Dimension when Spider-Man: No Way Home hits theaters on December 17.
