Dancing with the Stars is having an eventful season. Pro dancer Cheryl Burke has compared Season 30 to Survivor. She also called out the judges and said they “should cool it a little bit.” Cheryl and her partner, Peloton instructor Cody Rigsby, were both diagnosed with Covid-19. One week they had to perform remotely from their separate homes. That was rough.
Pop star JoJo Siwa was the first contestant to dance with a same sex partner. She was paired with pro Jenna Johnson, and they are killing every routine.
DWTS host Tyra Banks doubled down on the decision to cast influencer Olivia Jade on the show. Olivia’s parents, actress Lori Loughlin and designer Mossimo Giannulli, served time in prison because of their involvement in the college admissions scandal. They paid $500,000 for Olivia and her sister to gain admission to the University of Southern California.
Olivia was paired with pro Val Chmerkovskiy. She is getting great comments about her technique and her chemistry with Val. Of course, it wouldn’t be DWTS if there wasn’t a rumor about dance partners hooking up. Olivia denied any romance with Val, who is married to fellow pro Jenna. Awkward!
During horror movie week, Real Housewives of Atlanta star Kenya Moore’s Argentine tango didn’t scare up enough votes to save her. Kenya, who is incredibly competitive and driven, even asked DWTS vet, and Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star, Erika Jayne for advice. I’m sad to see Kenya go.
The same week, basketball star Iman Shumpert and his dance partner Daniella Karagach slayed with a contemporary routine inspired by the movie Us. The mesmerizing dance earned the couple a perfect score. It was creepy and fantastic at the same time.
In an interview with US Weekly, Iman’s wife, dancer and actress Teyana Taylor, discussed the sizzling chemistry between Iman and Daniella. “I’m too secure in my s–t to be worrying about that. We have to do movies and TV shows, and I have a love interest and stuff like that — it’s just part of the job,” Teyana commented. “We get our job done and we keep it pushing. And I think that’s the part that we love about each other the most because we do our job and we literally keep it pushing,” she explained.

The couple stars in their own reality show, We Got Love: Teyana & Iman. Iman, who plays basketball for the Brooklyn Nets, met Teyana in 2014. The couple tied the knot in 2016, and they share two daughters.
Teyana, who appeared on the television series Hit the Floor, stated that the sizzling connection between Iman and Daniella makes their performances better. Teyana shared, “I honestly think that their chemistry is amazing. I think that Daniella is an amazing choreographer. I’m a dancer, so I appreciate what she do and then she kills it,” Teyana added. Teyana is no slouch herself. She has appeared in some of Kanye West’s videos.
She is also happy to see her husband challenge himself by joining DWTS. “I think that [Karagach] takes him out of his comfort zone and I love that,” Teyana remarked. “You know what I’m saying? Like, you get to see him in a different space.”
Teyana called being in the DWTS audience “really fun.” She also said that she is “super proud” of Iman. Teyana “absolutely” thinks that Iman has a chance to take home the lovely, and very shiny, mirror ball trophy. Teyana stated, “He’s come a long way so I’m excited to see.”
