Lisa Vanderpump Wanted Stassi Schroeder And Kristen Doute “To Stay” On Vanderpump Rules “And Work It Out”

Reality TV

Season 9 of Vanderpump Rules is a different beast than previous seasons. Many of the “OG” cast members are gone. Stassi Schroeder and Kristen Doute were fired from Pump Rules in June of 2020 for racist behavior. Newbies Brett Caprioni and Max Boyens were let go because of prior racist tweets.

In 2018, Stassi and Kristen called the police on former co-star Faith Stowers. They alleged that Faith was drugging men and stealing their belongings. Stassi also claimed that Faith might have stolen Jax Taylor’s car.

Kristen and Stassi both issued public apologies to Faith via Instagram, but it wasn’t enough to save their jobs. As a result of her behavior, Stassi lost her podcast, her PR firm, and lots of brand partnerships.

In December of 2020, Jax, another problematic “OG,” announced that he and his wife, Brittany Cartwright, were leaving VPR to concentrate on their family. The Instagram post has been deleted.

Lisa shared that Stassi ghosted her when Lisa reached out to her. Of course, Stassi has been a bit busy. Stassi and her husband, Beau Clark, welcomed their daughter, Hartford Charlie Rose Clark, on January 7, 2021. And in March of 2021, Stassi announced on Instagram that she was launching a parenting podcast. Wow.

Lisa’s feelings about Stassi and Kristen being fired seems to have evolved over time. In January of 2021, Lisa commented, “It wasn’t right what they did at all. But do I think they’re racist a thousand percent? No.…” Lisa said. “I just think it was just awful timing and stupid and ignorant.” I sometimes feel like Lisa wants the fired cast members to return for a redemption storyline.

In March of 2021, Lisa told Cosmopolitan, “I think Bravo dealt with it appropriately, I think people should learn from their mistakes, but Bravo kind of brought the gavel down on them and actions have consequences, and I support their decision.”

Now that Season 9 of Pump Rules has kicked off, it lacks a certain spark, like its mojo is missing. There is a ton of Lala Kent feuding with her co-stars, and Tom Sandoval being more extra than usual. It was sweet that Tom helped James Kennedy plan his proposal to Raquel Leviss.

In an interview with Page Six, Lisa talked about why she wishes Kristen and Stassi could have been part of Season 9. “I would have preferred to chastise them and see them learn from their mistakes as we’ve seen so many youngsters do on the show,” Lisa remarked. “But that was Bravo’s decision.”

Lisa continued, “I always want to see growth and I would love to have seen them stay here and work it out. It was really a sign of the times. Everybody [had] a lot of reactive decisions,” the restaurateur said. Lisa admitted that she “even miss[es]” Kristen. I am shook.

Lisa actually bumped into Stassi and no drinks were thrown. That’s progress! Lisa explained, “I did say, ‘Yes I called you back and I’ve called you and reached out to you.’ And she said, ‘Yes, yes you did,’” Lisa commented. “She was very friendly.”
