Cheryl Burke can finally return to the “Dancing With the Stars” ballroom!
The pro dancer shared the exciting news via social media late Wednesday that she has been cleared to return to set after testing positive for COVID-19 last month.
“I have been officially cleared,” Burke, 37, exclaimed. “I am back to normal. No more quarantine for me.”
Burke said that her dance partner, Peloton instructor Cody Rigsby, hasn’t officially been cleared, but teased that he should be good to go come Monday.
“Unfortunately, Cody is still in quarantine,” Burke shared. “But he will be back in Los Angeles starting Friday, which means we can technically dance on both Monday and Tuesday.”
She added, “You will see us both back in the ballroom. We’ve got lots of work to do.”
Burke thanked her and Rigsby’s fans for their all support and votes before signing off.
The vaccinated “DWTS” pro announced in an emotional video posted to Instagram on Sept. 26 that she tested positive for a breakthrough case of COVID-19.
“I feel so bad. I feel so bad for Cody,” she said at the time. “I feel like I’m letting him down. I just feel like s–t.”
Days later, Rigsby, 34, announced via Instagram that he also tested positive for COVID-19. He explained that despite being vaccinated and “following CDC guidelines,” he still contracted the virus for a second time in 2021.
The two didn’t let COVID-19 slow them down, however. The two successfully remained in the competition this week by performing a jazz routine set to Britney Spears’ “Gimme More” live from their separate homes.
“It wasn’t under the perfect circumstances but I still had so much fun doing this,” Rigsby told Page Six and other reporters after the show. “It was really a dream come true.”
He added, “We got the opportunity and it all worked out. Hopefully everything comes together and we’ll be in the ballroom next week.”
“Dancing With the Stars” airs Mondays at 8 p.m. ET/PT on ABC.
