Vicki Gunvalson Confirms Breakup With Steve Lodge; Says No One Is At Fault For The Split

Reality TV

The OG of the OC has spoken. While various media outlets have been reporting on the rumored breakup of Vicki Gunvalson and Steve Lodge; the pair had yet to confirm the split… that is, until now. Off-season Real Housewives of Orange County is killing it y’all.

While I do have a modicum of respect for Vicki for running her own insurance company, and doing it moderately well, her love tank could use some work. Don’t hate at me, I’ll explain why.

Remember way back when, in the annals of RHOC when Vicki was still married to the long-suffering Donn Gunvalson and she went on a finance retreat and had some questionable behavior with men that were most definitely not Don? And then we found out later that this was most likely where she met the infamous Brooks Ayers. While still married to Don. (See, love life messy). Fun fact- I happened to be at that same retreat with my husband, who is a financial advisor. And, there are certain qualifications one must meet to attend, let alone get an invite (See, work life semi-respectable). Which doesn’t explain why Brooks was there, but I digress.

Sufficed to say, Vicki’s love tank, or lack there of, has long been a talking point in the OC. Whether it’s been cheating rumorscancer scams, or gubernatorial bids, life with Vicki is never dull. While Vicki seemed to be convinced that Steve was indeed, the man for her, Steve always seemed to be… less than enthralled. This is a man who had to be coerced into proposing to purportedly the “love of his life” in order to keep her on a television show he seems to detest. I do find it interesting however, that he found her enough of an asset during his run for governor to keep her around that long. Things that make you go hmmm, indeed.

On Wednesday, Vicki took to her Instagram account to address the rumors. In true Vicki fashion, she posted semi-confusing quotes, and one not so semi-confusing picture featuring a phot of Vicki and Steve, literally torn apart.

Her first picture read, “Once you decide you want a good life, The Universe will start moving things for you to have it, the people you need will appear, the healing you need will happen, the doors you need open will unlock. Once you truly, sincerely decide, miracles will happen.” Color me confused, is she trying to tell us that her break-up is a miracle?

She continued on to post another (shall we call it aspirational?) quote, “Sometimes, holding on does more damage than letting go.” So, not a miracle? But a necessity?

Her direct comments were a little more forthcoming. Vicki wrote, “This is what appeared for today’s “Vibe of the day”… pretty appropriate for what I’m going through. It’s taken me a day to be able to make a statement after the press started writing about Steve and I. Yes, the rumors are true. The time has come for Steve and I to move forward or move on and we are …. moving on.”

Vicki went on to say, “There is no fault with either person, we are just going in different directions. I wish him the best life has to offer and to be happy, and he has wished the same for me.” And of course there was a little shade throwing, “I gave it my all, but sometimes the “ALL” isn’t enough.” Sure Jan, we totally believe you.

And that is apparently the last thing we will hear on the topic as according to Vicki, “We both have no further comment.” And if you believe that, I’ve got a bridge in Iowa to sell you.

TELL US- ARE YOU SUPRISED TO HEAR THAT VICKI AND STEVE HAVE BROKEN UP? DO YOU THINK THERE IS ANY CHANCE WE WON’T HEAR VICKI TALK ABOUT IT AGAIN?
