It’s all happening — Vanderpump Rules is about to finally premiere its ninth season after cast shakeups and a whole baby boom. The ninth season is about to look very different, with OGs like Stassi Schroeder, Jax Taylor and Kristen Doute out of the mix. But even though the cast is fulling embracing “adulting” after years of debauchery, that doesn’t mean they won’t fall back into their old ways. And hopefully, that means at least one argument in the Sur back alley.
Scheana Shay and her high ponytails will (of course) be making a return. This time, she’s a momma and has a new man, Brock Davies, on her arm. While the two are preparing to hear wedding bells, filming their first season as a couple wasn’t all diamonds and rose. Lisa Vanderpump says that Brock has a rough season, particularly in his relationship. Again I say, thank god ScheShu got a prenup.
One major point of contention will seemingly be Brock’s relationship with his other children from a previous relationship. The always messy Lala Kent apparently calls Brock out for not seeing his kids in four years. And ahead of the VPR premiere, Brock shared his side of the story with Page Six. Well, sort of — he kind of tip-toed around the issue. “Those are my kids and their life was private and they didn’t decide to date Scheana. I did,” Brock said. “It’s been said and it’s out there and I knew it was coming, so I just got to embrace that one.” So he’s not denying it. Very interesting.

Scheana has said that her man is “brutally honest” during his first round of Pump Rules, which could be good or bad. In this case, it’ll definitely be controversial. “I told my troops through the season I had to step up to the plate, know I have a past, and if I could change it, I would,” Brock continued. “But at the same time, we’re here and I got to make sure I do the right things going forward.” This sounds like a lot of talk, not much action. But I’ll give him the benefit of the doubt before I see him on my TV screen.
According to Brock, Lala’s comments were about his past when he was in a “different place.” And that going forward, he’s “done the right thing.” “Obviously not my proudest moments, but it’s a part of my life,” Brock added. Give his kids a confessional and let them share their side of this story. He also made a Lisa Rinna-ism saying that even if people don’t believe the truth he’s going to “turn around and own it 100 percent.” I had my doubts about VPR Season 9 but with this drama teased, it might not be so bad.
