When Mary Cosby isn’t preaching to her congregation, she’s hurling insults at her “Real Housewives of Salt Lake City” castmate Whitney Rose on Twitter.
The religious-leader-turned-reality star slammed Rose in an angry social media tirade after catching wind of an interview she did with Access Hollywood’s “Housewives Nightcap.”
Rose claimed that Cosby “won’t speak” to her about allegations that she’s running a cult, a storyline teased for the remainder of “RHOSLC” Season 2 and backed up by ex-members of Cosby’s Faith Temple Pentecostal Church.
“You are such a liar! Whitney Rose,” Cosby shot back at the Iris + Beau founder. “You know you don’t talk to me! With your Bobble Head!”
She added, “Humble yourself!”
Cosby went on to say that Rose is “so hungry” for speaking out about their fractured relationship, adding that there is no chance of reconciliation despite Rose’s best intentions.
“I don’t even know what this is…” Cosby wrote of Rose’s comments. “She’s so fake!!”
In a follow-up tweet, she claimed that “everything [Rose] does she is told to do!” Cosby also attacked her co-star’s penchant for pole-dancing as a form of exercise.
“You need to stop lying on me because your [sic] being the most the season with your pole dancing mentality,” she sniped. “you & I will never be friends why would I talk to a fake Whitney.”
Cosby may be particularly irate with Rose because, as previews indicate, she was one of the first “Salt Lake City” cast members to acknowledge the speculation about Cosby’s church. “All the rumors are that Mary is a cult leader,” Rose says in a clip.
Speaking with The Daily Beast for an exposé published last week, reformed acolytes detailed their shocking alleged experiences with Cosby.
People who fled her congregation claimed that she refers to herself as God, manipulates members to work for her family’s businesses for little to no pay and often tells them they will be condemned to hell for various reasons — including leaving the church and not tithing enough.
“It’s not a joke,” Abby, a former church member who left at age 22 in the late 1990s, said. “She’s got these people terrified. That woman is the most evil thing that ever walked this Earth. You have no idea, all those smiles and s–t — that is not real.”
Cosby has previously denied she’s running a cult. She has also denied claims that she used money from her congregation to fund her luxurious lifestyle.
“Clearly I’m not gonna get on national television, be a ‘Housewife’ and be in a cult,” she said on “Entertainment Tonight” in January. “Like, come on. I believe in my church. There’s no cult. My church members, they know those are false allegations. Those are ridiculous. It’s the people that are looking for fault.”
“The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City” airs Sundays at 9 p.m. ET on Bravo.
