Get your Pumptinis ready — Vanderpump Rules Season 9 is coming back this month. After a mass exodus (aka firing) of several cast members including Stassi Schroeder, Kristen Doute, Jax Taylor, Brittany Cartwright, and more, the new gang is ready to drink, party, and be merry. Well, sort of.
Bravo dropped the new trailer via Entertainment Tonight and it’s definitely something. We see Lala Kent and Scheana Shay become new moms, but it’s not all babies and rainbows. Lala particularly finds herself in a few feuds and, as always, stirring the pot a bit. She and Ariana Madix don’t seem to be getting along swimmingly, with Lala saying she’ll teach Ariana how to be cool. “Oh, babe I was born cool,” Ariana chimes back.
At one point, Lala mentions that Scheana’s new man Brock Davies has two kids that “he hasn’t spoken to in four years.” And James Kennedy, while now sober and newly engaged, seems to channel his old ways of getting in the drama. He and Brock look like they won’t be getting along, with James telling Brock he’s “embarrassed” for him. Maybe this is why Lisa Vanderpump said Brock has a rough season.
Even though James and Raquel Leviss are preparing to tie the knot, they aren’t in a total honeymoon phase next season of VPR. James channels his former self when he calls Raquel and Charli Burnett dumb. And it’s not about the pasta, but was totally uncalled for. In another moment, Raquel tells James that she has control over changes to her own body, but it’s not clear what she’s referring to. James snaps back, “I’m the one that has to look at your face.” Ohhhh boy. James, don’t make me have to dislike you again.
And as far as the bromance between Tom Sandoval and Tom Schwartz, it’s definitely on the rocks. Now that their business partners, the two were looking to open another bar. But Katie Maloney-Schwartz found herself right in the middle of their scuffle. Katie and Sandoval go at it with Sandy screaming “F–k you for making me feel like a f–king psychopath.” I smell gaslighting.
Outside the drama, there’s plenty of partying, twerking, and drinking as always. The Pump Rulers might be doing grown-up shit, but they’ll never fully grow up. The show returns to Bravo on Tuesday, September 28 at 9 p.m. And that will be the true test of whether or not VPR can make it through anything, or is destined for the chopping block.
