Ashley Jacobs had a time on Southern Charm, to put it lightly. She’s probably the move revered cast member on the show of all time, mostly due to her bullying of Kathryn Dennis. She came onto the show as one of Thomas Ravenel’s girlfriends until she high-tailed it back to Santa Barbara. She and TRav were perfect for each other — both toxic AF. And since they’ve both left the reality TV spotlight, it seems to be for the better. Not only for the cast but for viewers as well.
Ashley recently announced on her Instagram that she and her new husband (who she secretly married) welcomed their first baby boy together. “The happiest, most surreal, and exhausting weekend of our lives. Our baby boy is here. It’s hard to put into words how I feel because ‘in love’ feelings like an understatement,” she wrote. She posted pictures of the new baby on August 18, as well as photos of herself and hubby Mike Appel basking in the new parenting glory. While I’m definitely NOT a fan of Ashley on TV, I’m glad to see her move on from her villainous ways to settle down and start a family of her own.

To no surprise, the core Southern Charm cast wasn’t eager to hop into Ashley’s comments and congratulate her. But that’s probably because the majority of them don’t follow her/blocked her after her performance in Charleston. However, Landon Clements, who also had a bit of a villainous stint on the show, wrote “so sweet” under the photos. Not totally surprising these two Southern Charm alums get along — fans felt a similar dislike to both of them while they tried out the TV thing. All I gotta say is thank God Ashley didn’t have a baby with TRav. That would’ve made her connected to him and Kathryn for the rest of their lives, which is just a messy place to be. Especially when there are children involved, evidently.
While Ashley won’t be returning to Southern Charm anytime soon (or likely ever), the show is apparently filming its eighth season. The full cast hasn’t been announced, but we can expect our usual cast of Southern characters to come back, with maybe a few new faces thrown into the mix.
