Big Thief are back with two new songs. “Little Things” was recorded in October 2020 in Topanga, California. “Sparrow” was recorded last summer in the Catskills. Both were produced by the band’s drummer James Krivchenia. Listen to both songs below.

Krivchenia explained that the shared version of “Sparrow” is the band’s first take recording it. “We all just scattered about the room without headphones, focused and in the music—you could feel that something special was happening,” he said in a statement.

It’s their first new music since the release of the Two Hands outtake “Love in Mine” last year. Their last albums U.F.O.F. and Two Hands were both released in 2019.

On Friday, September 10, Big Thief will perform at Pitchfork Music Festival 2021 at Union Park in Chicago, Illinois. Tickets are on sale now.
