If your mom wants to be the surrogate for her future grandchild, is that taking things too far?
For one mother-and-daughter duo, maybe not. In the latest episode of TLC’s hit reality series “sMothered,” audiences witness Lauren and her mother, Lisa, as they consider that awkward possibility.
However, it may not be so wacky for them: Mom Lisa already helped her daughter with an intimate, at-home attempt at artificial insemination.
In this exclusive preview, Lauren and her wife, Laura Leigh, are joined by Lisa as they explain that process to Lauren’s shocked fertility doctor.
“sMothered” Season 3, co-produced by The Post, follows several pairs of mothers and daughters with outrageously close bonds, including the newest duo — Louisiana-based Lisa, 53, and Lauren, 27, who have regular sleepovers.
In the video, viewers get a glimpse into Lisa’s overbearing nature while the three speak with the doctor. Things reach a contentious point when, out of the blue, Lisa asks the physician whether she could carry Lauren’s baby for her should she be unable to do so.
Which, evidently, is one of gobsmacked Laura Leigh’s boundaries — her short reaction is bleeped.
As for getting her mom’s help with home insemination, Lauren explained, “It’s really special to have my momma help me with that. She gave me life, and she got to put it inside of me. I’m happy to have my No. 1 right there with me during that time.”
Although Lisa and Lauren field judgment from their social circles, they stood firm on their decision to conduct an at-home insemination attempt.
“I’ve been wanting to have a baby for a long time now,” said Lauren. “The way I see it, people’s parents give them medicine or enemas as adults … I’d prefer her over anyone else doing that.”
