A new documentary outlining the embezzlement charges Tom Girardi and Erika Jayne could be facing is juicier than the previous few seasons of the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. Dubbed The Housewife and the Hustler, the ABC doc dug into all of the fraud allegations surrounding Tom’s longtime (and now disgraced) legal practice where he allegedly misappropriated settlement funds due to his clients for years. We heard horrific first accounts from the victims of the crime who are suffering. And fans even saw Tom’s deposition, where he admits to losing $50-$80 million in cash.
While Erika says she’s a scapegoat in all of this, the feds aren’t letting her off the hook that easy. The documentary brought new questions surrounding her shady divorce, which definitely makes it look like a ploy to protect her assets. Like, Tom gave her company a $20 million loan that he earned off the trauma of his clients ALLEGEDLY so she could prance around in high-end fashion while bragging about her multiple jets. The entire thing is totally nauseating and makes us wonder if Erika will have her own stint at camp a la Teresa Giudice.
The documentary had it all, even Real Housewives of New Jersey OG Danielle Staub and Miss $25,000 sunglasses Dana Wilkey were involved. And they did not hold back when it came to their opinion about the legal mess. However, Andy Cohen apparently questioned the pair’s involvement in the show while vouching for Erika’s RHOBH future, Us Weekly reports.
On the June 16 episode of SiriusXM’s Andy Cohen Live, a caller asked Andy if the documentary would affect Erika’s future on the show. “Well I don’t know,” Andy said. “I don’t think that documentary will affect her future on the show.” It will if she’s behind bars. BLOOP.

The caller continued to say the Hulu doc was “the first thing (they) ever saw as a viewer that made (them) not want to watch the show or watch her on the show. Just because seeing her life of opulence, knowing that money was stolen, made it a little bit icky.” Exactly. It’s hard to watch the old scenes of Erika bragging about being rich and encouraging others to aspire to her fraudulent lifestyle. No wonder she created an altar ego — Mrs. Girardi can just blame it on her.
This is where Andy showed his shady side. He questioned the legitimacy of some of the claims in the ABC special. “I will say the idea that Danielle Staub and Dana Wilkey are the experts in this documentary about Erika is questionable at best,” he said. “So I kind of realized I wasn’t gonna learn anything new from them about Erika.” Alright, Andy slow down here. Dana and Danielle’s involvement was goofy, but they never purported to be “experts” about the case. And hey, Dana faced some fraud allegations of her own back in the day so maybe she does have more expertise than we give her credit for.

Like, Erika’s own lawyers quit the day after the documentary released after some sort of breach of trust. The documentary featured actual law professionals, legal documentation and interviews with victims’. Are those “questionable at best” Andy?
Andy added that the stories surrounding Tom “continue to be deeply disturbing and we have to see how this plays out.” Considering Tom is without his law license, his money and soon to be his house, I wouldn’t bet this ordeal will play out well in any case. But like Andy says, the truth will come out with time.
