Crystal Kung Minkoff Explains Arrest Warrant From More Than 20 Years Ago

Reality TV

The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills are off to the races, with a few new faces along for the ride. Garcelle Beauvais is back for round two, and this time she’s not letting Lisa Rinna dance her way out of being held accountable for her actions. Sutton Stracke officially has a diamond and is rumored to feud with everyone, particularly Erika Jayne. Because we know that Erika is obviously not taking responsibility for having a role in her soon-to-be ex-husband Tom Girardi’s legal issues. Kyle Richards’ other sister, Kathy Hilton, has graced us with her presence with her martini chugging and wardrobe full of t-shirts with inspirational quotes. And Crystal Kung Minkoff also joined the group this year and is already bringing more to the table than Erika has throughout multiple seasons.

Crystal is, so far, perfect Real Housewives material. She’s married to a big-time Hollywood movie maker, has an adorable little family and her brother is a major Chinese pop star. To be clear, joining a new group of fabulous ladies, particularly the RHOBH ladies who love a good gang up, can be a struggle. But Crystal is fitting right in and isn’t holding back her opinions of the other women. During last week’s episode, she and Sutton got into it when Sutton started dismissing Crystal’s experiences with racist stereotypes. Sutton has since apologized and Crystal forgave her, but we’re all waiting for that “ugly leather pants” moment that was teased in the trailer.

Also during last week’s episode, Crystal revealed that she worked for an escort service during the two truths and a live game. Her lie was that she was arrested, but she revealed that wasn’t entirely the truth on Teddi Mellencamp’s Teddi Tea Pod. I know I know, any mention of Teddi brings plenty of eye rolls. But we viewers better get used to it, because she’ll apparently be making a cameo sometime this season.

On the podcast, Crystal revealed she actually has a warrant for her arrest in Arizona. After the clip starting making its round on the internet, the newest diamond holder took to Twitter to explain further. And praise all of the hilarious memes fans have been making about her and a warrant. “Unfortunately, the real story isn’t that excited and it happened 22 years ago, but love that you’re all enjoying it,” she wrote.

Then she goes into the story, which took place at a graduation on the Northern Arizona University campus. “I drove onto campus, the campus police said it wasn’t my turn to go thru the intersection at a 4 way stop and the officer got pissed. So instead of giving me a regular ticket, I was cited for using my car as a weapon,” she began. Wow, that escalated pretty quickly.

Once she got back to Los Angeles, Crystal says she received a citation in the mail. “I called the judge. The judge thought it was absurd and said ‘do you plan on driving here again in the next 6 years?’ I said ‘no’ (I was 16 with my dad and brother in the car). And he replied it was such a hassle for you to come back to Arizona for a hearing to have it dismissed so instead just don’t come back.” OK, so now Crystal can add OUTLAW to her long list of titles and accomplishments. But for real, I’m dying at the idea of Crystal having a warrant for rolling through a stop sign at age 16. As I said, Crystal has come to save RHOBH and bring back the absurdity again with Kathy by her side.
